just had my picc line taken out and theres a birg wort like pimple where the whole was. its all scar tissue i'm assuming. how long does it take to go away? can i get it taken care of?

I had a PICC for 5 months last year. I still have a round, dark, hardened knot in my arm where the line was, and it's been almost a year since it was taken out.
It really doesn't bother me, but I am pretty sure it is scar tissue that is not going to go away.
It may be different for others, but I've never spoken to anyone else who has had a PICC.

i had a picc in both arms over time, and all healed (this is years later) to just some white, flat marks where the line went in, and also the marks from the stitching on the butterfly.
at first they were bumps, and like little "innie" belly button holes at the insertion site. more red and inflamed at first -- sort of keloidish, but it healed. i believe i did use topicals, along the lines of dr. john chrostopher type helaing salves.
on me, they are now small nick marks, very white against already pale skin. i've got that "cheap irish skin", tho. others may heal less visible than mine.
try a good topical and the tincture of time.

not to worry....
eventually they will be absorbed into your skin and not seem so prominent!
you might try that stuff out on the market these days that is supposed to heal scars....

I didn't have a picc line but a midline, pretty much the same thing.
Its was a little bubbly and weird for a bit during healing but after about a week the skin was healed enough and I immediately started with Cocoa Butter (organic) got mine at Whole Foods (don't work for them, just enjoy the store).
I try to put it on every day. The scar has substantially faded. Hopefully eventually you won't be able to see it at all.

I have one on the inside of each arm. Flat, but little red circles where the line went in.
