Doc put me on Azithromycin and Cefdinir based on fact I found a tick on me and that I live in RI which is endemic for Lyme. Had symptoms of knee pain, night sweats, brain fog, fatique which were all tolerable.

What is not tolerable is how my stomach feels on the meds. I have taken myself off. I also tested negative on blood work that was done (not sure what lab).

From what I understand you need to be off meds for three weeks before you get work done by Igenex. So that is what I am going to do. Stay off the meds, see how I feel, and get tested through Igenex.

I have taken Probiotics (granted not religously) never realizing what the abx would do to me. I should have taken them daily.

Has anyone else faced this problem and what have you done about it?

Your help is greatly appreciated. I would rather deal with the knee pain and other symptoms than how I feel on meds, but then I think back to what it was really like without meds.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Take your Probiotic every day!!!! Very important!! Also remember that the Abx is toxic to your body and make sure you are detoxing and on a good vitamin supplement regimen. Check with your doctor or pharmacist to see if you can take your Abx with food, sometimes it helps.
Good luck with your tests!!! I hope you will get good results!!!
Get well soon

Take your abx with food and stay on it. Taking a abx with food is better then not taking it all. Even if its something simple like crackers, bread or fritos...it can help with the nausea.

Just remember that with all the aches and pains, you're killing lyme, which is whats making you feel miserable.

Its like going through a long, dark tunnel and then turning around and coming back out.. you still have to get through the dark times, but theres light at the end...

I am using alot of aloe and it appears to be holding back yeast.

It will make you herx.

I find ceftin tolerable but ceclor pukable.

Amox dont even go there.

But yet I can use low doses of augmentin and 2 G of ceftin on an empty stomach!

I cant take 100mg doxy, yet I can take 500mg! minocin empty w/o a prob.

MAybe ask your doctor.
