I just found out I am vitamin d defecient my reading was 4 I am having alot of muscle and joint pain and was wondering how long anyone in this same predicament it took before seeing any results I am really in pain hoping for some answers, I also have yeast BADDDDD and am taking nystatin and diflucan HELP

Several years ago my vit D was a 9. I started the prescription dose that my doctor wanted me to take but couldn't continue with it because I had trouble sleeping on it. I now take over the counter D everyday.

I've never noticed a difference with muscle pain or fatigue even though they have been the worst of my symptoms but I did start having hair growth under my arms again.

I know others have had better energy and have felt better on Vit. D. The Marshall protocol say's vit D is contraindicated for those with infections but I've never really felt comfortable with their thinking on it.

Vit D has been discussed here many times because so many of us have low levels of Vit D.

Vitamin D made a big difference in my daughter's progress.

If you are really deficient, I would start out slowly. Take 400IU of D3 daily. My daughter herxed HUGE on the fourth day...Christmas Eve. She was sick.

She eventually worked up to 6000IU. It took a year to go from almost zero to 76. She has backed off on the D for now.

We live in a very sunny state. I'm a crossing guard. My D level was still low.

For some reason our bodies have a hard time converting the D.

My LLMD starts his patients on it the first visit.

He said he has lowered his cholesterol by taking D and no longer needs medication.

It's a good natural thing.

If you're going to start supplementing, I'd say to do so with D3 and not D2. My D levels were always "below measurable" until I swtiched to D3.

my d was real low. 3 i think. the llmd ordered the test and the pcp was freaked out when she saw the #.

i took 4000mg a day and got out in the sun. i immediately started to feel better. within 3 months i was up to normal.

I tested low vitamin D around March. Used an over the counter vitamin D 1000 iu once/day and was retested 3 months later and results were excellent.

Also got outside to walk in the sunshine 3 - 5 times a week.

I have yeast issues, too. Can't take abx for more than a couple weeks without a bad flare up. Feel better taking fiber / keeping regular. Very low sugar diet. Diflucan helps.

Vit D3 is getting wonderful press these days. Low D levels are connected with all kinds of disease including cancer and heart attacks.

MS and Rheumatoid arthritis are two diseases that respond well to supplementing Vit D3.

Healthy people should be supplementing 2000 IU daily and sick people as much as 5000 IU. I too had a bad herx when I increased my Vit D3 from 1000 IU to 3000 IU.

Sunshine is your best source of D. You can't overdose from the sun. However, with winter approaching, any state north of mississippi cannot receive enough Vit D from the sun during the winter months.

Many people for many reasons are not getting enough even when they do get sun and must still supplement. I am one of those people.

My vit D was at 13 when first tested. Doc started me on a 2000IU of vitD/vitA combo daily.

During the winter months, I up it to 4000IU daily.

The doc also wrote a script for 15 minutes of sunshine each day - no sunscreen. Also ended up with a 10 minute lecture on the benefits of sunshine. LOL!

Haven't noticed much of a change body-wise, but it does seem to help the winter blues.

Is the Labcorp Vit D testing adequate? I think some people recommend Quest but my Insurance participates with Labcorp. Hoping they are just as good. TIA
