I started taking omnicef/cedfinir 300 mg and zithromax 250 mg. I took the first two pills last night--had some stomach issues but went to bed a few hours later and then took two (one of each) this morning.

About an hour later, I was at work and started to feel extremely sick--dizzy, hot and cold flashes and weak. Now I know I'm normally sick, but this felt different.

I feel extremely weak and "out of it" like I can't comprehend what's going on. It's a weird feeling I can't explain.

Is this a bad reaction to the medicine? I don't think it would be a herx because I just started the meds but I really am new at this.

Sound familiar to anyone? I left work and am laying in bed. Called my LLMD--haven't heard back yet.

How do people work like this? I left work today but I don't know if I can keep doing that. I told people there what was going on--but don't think they really "get it." I probably wouldn't have either before this happened to me!!!

Sounds like a typical herx reaction; it happens to me too when I have started a new strong abx like the ones you are taking.

Yes, herxes can and do start within hours (or a day or two) of starting an antibiotic like zith and omincef.

For many people, these herxy reactions to a new treatment are most intense the first couple of days or weeks. When I start a new abx I usually adapt to it within a week or two.

For those of us who have to work, starting a new treatment can be incredibly difficult for temporarily incapacitating.

Sounds like it would be best if you can take a couple of days off to allow yourself to adjust to the treatment and get lots of rest. Hope you feel better soon.

I worked thru all of my herxes.

I sometimes become.....stuped...or brain numbed or whatever....but, that....based on the time frame...sounds like a herx.

That's a question I've wondered about for a while too. How on earth do people on this forum work through herxes? Working full-time seems impossible if you're too ill.
