I guess i should be happy as my LLMD made a clinical diagnosis finally after 2 years
....and now the past three days my symptoms are exacerbated. Woke up this moring with severe agitation which is what made me get serious about what was going on.
In addition my muscle weakness is more acute. These symptoms had been stable for a month and now got real worse starting on day 15 and now on day 17.
I took a hot bath last night and got some relief and now today right back to where i was and worse with the agitation.
The agitation was enough to wake me up despite my xanax the night before.
So what do you think am i officially herxing? sounds funnny but i hope so. What do you guys think?

OH sure. You can begin herxing on Day 1....could last a long time unfortunately.
You might get lucky and only feel bad one week a month...but that would be pretty lucky!

Agitation is definitely a herx symptom for me.
How long it lasts can be a bit different for everyone, like Lymetoo said. Depends how long you have been sick, and how sick you became before starting treatment. For me, the worst herxing is during the first month to six weeks after starting a new abx.
Hang in there, get rest, and drink lots of water! Hope you feel better soon.

Makes me feel a bit better...my muscles are so shakey it feels like i have Parkinsons. I've had Lyme for 2 yrs and 4 months.
I think i'm fortunate as for 2 years i supsected it but it was mild( was bit and the tick was positive). Thene in June of this year things went off the charts.
Got a clinical diagnosis 3 weeks ago(i tested negative 7 times). So herxing isa good sign for me although the agitation and muscle shakeness is scary.

My first Herx lasted 2 weeks. Then I was okay for a week, then herxed again for a week.
Currently not Herxing but bracing myself for the next go-round.
The shaking is one of the worst symptoms, IMO. It makes you feel so out of control, no?
And the anxiety reaction ranks a close second as far as Herxes go.
Good luck, it does get better.

Thanks....its a double edge sword for me...its seems i am herxing and in the absensce of positive serology i guess i should be happy.
But damn hard to convince myself when i know i feel much worse 3 weeks into abx. This shaking makes me seem like a 85 year old main.
And too boot i have a cold coming on...sore throat, etc....related ? Funny thing about that is since i was bitten i've hardly been sick at all. Strange.
And to make matters worse was the Met game yesterday(see i haven't lost my sense of humor).

Hey folks,
as bad as i felt over the weekend by Monday night(after excercise and hot bath) i felt serious improvement. Been two days and still feel the improvement.
Sounds like Herx ...huh? First one on day 15-18. i swear it felt like Parkinsons.
Any idea when the next one will come?

Hi Dave, we've talked before.
I'm in NJ too.
I took doxy for about three weeks before just...falling....off....a.....cliff. Worse than ever before, for about one week.
But then - - - I got & stayed out of bed for the first time in months. I was suddenly about 50% of normal, after being 0% of normal for a long, long time.
I predict you're about to see the light at the end of the tunnel! The bad news is, the tunnel is a little bit longer than we'd all like it to be.

have you maintained that progreess? I felt pretty good all week and thne today i's trating to feel weak.
Not sure if its a herx but if so that will be 2 weekends in a row...rather herx when i'm at work and let my kids seem me when i'm feeling well.
Where in NJ are you? I'm in Union County.
