This is the email I sent to my LLMD. His reply was to stop using it, which I have. But I wanted to know if anyone else had this issue and if it went away for them?
"I don't know if I can handle the pain patch. I had to take it off after 26-hours. After 12-hours on it I became light-headed, I couldn't eat, I felt almost panicky. I was also in a stupor and tingly all over. And while the tingly was nice, after a few hours it got annoying.
"It did help with the pain, though. Is there a lower dose or a different patch? If not I may have to stick with pills unless the side effects I told you about go away quickly?"
It's 12mcg of Duragesic. Is there a lower dose? It really did help the pain. Do those effects wear off? Should I have toughed it out?

You may be able to tolerate Flector patches better. Also, have you considered cutting them in half?

DON'T CUT A PAIN PATCH IN HALF. Check with your pharmacist about cutting in half. In some of the pain patches, even a nick can cause all of the medication to be released at once...causing coma or death.
I believe some Duragesic patches were recalled last year because of this problem.

Well, I read the information leaflet very carefully so I know not to cut them in half. But what are Flector patches? I've not heard of those.
