As I am sure you are all aware, LymeNet was down yesterday, October 1, 2008.

From "tbrown":
"It appears that someone has been spamming the forums with multiple searches (i.e. hundreds of them) which brought the system to a halt."

After LymeNet was restored and my email was working again, I don't think I received all the emails that were sent to me. So, if I don't get back to you by tomorrow night, October 3, 2008, please resend me the email.

I will now be removing spammers and their topics.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

Intentionally timed to coincide with our gaining of ground
in Congress?

Yes, there is a definite correlation with attacks on lymenet. Apparently there is nothing those creeps won't do, but why is that surprising. They ensure that sick people will not get treatment, watch them die. Why would attacks on a patient forum not also be in their bag of tricks. You don't have to go to Iraq or North Korea to find evil people.

I wish the webmaster would find a way to track these people down, get them identified. Surely this is possible.

is there some way to confirm email addresses or something?

i'm on one board and they have a very restricted address site which is pain to register but it seems to work.

is it possible to do that?

look,

please alert us as to whether further outages are a distinct possibility.

i have a life and death situation on our hands with my son, continuing for weeks now, that is comprehensive in nature.

i post here for urgent assistance, and four, five, seven days later it gets viewed. for maybe a couple of hours.

i fully believe that Lou and others on the site are trying their best without a doubt, but i believe it is reasonable for us to expect some kind of real assessment of the current situation.

what you are doing about it isn't at issue.
i am sure allot of hard work is being done, and surely the fervent hope is it will become stable.

regardless of the best of intentions and efforts..

as i'm sure all can understand, we need to know whether the administrators believe that this is a stable site right now, or not. do you have a confident grasp on the problem, or is it still a struggle for site administrators.

so we may be adequately prepared for that.

It may help to copy to a computer file (and into a hand-written address book) the numbers of one's area support group leaders.

In the event of an emergency, if the computer is down, some sort of help might still be obtained.

Dr. Kenneth Singleton's book "The Lyme Disease Solution" is also a great reference source to have on hand.

Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for all of your hard work. If you ever need help, my husband is a Software Engineer and would be happy to offer assistance I'm sure. I am technologically challanged, so know nothing about how to fix anything you have to plug in, but hubby is a whiz!

Thanks again!
