ive read on here that a number of people have said that they have/had/are experiencing facial burning and im just wondering if their opinions or anyone else's how to distinguish between it being nerve pain/damage or just constant dehydrated skin??
A couple points ive noticed:
my nose and surrounding areas are usually red like seborrheic dermatitis-like yet its the rest of my face which isn't red but seems to have this burning sensation most of the time
the burning sensation isn't a bolt of lightning sensation but more of a constant dull burning like as if ive gotten a sunburn and it just doesn't wanna heal
sitting if front of the computer makes it so much worse as well as when i watch TV even though im watching TV from far away ??
putting ice on it or just putting ice on the back of my neck helps
splashing my face with water makes it temporarily go away
the other weird thing ive noticed is that my teeth and roots of my teeth are very very sensitive too so im not sure what to think??
Lastly if this symptom does appear to be tick-borne which one does it sound most like to u guys?

thanks thats sort what it feels like all the time so its one of the most annoying symptoms b/c i just want that 'sunburn' to heal and not burn but it always does
does anyone know of it there are tests that would reveal nerve damage/inflammation or something
along my road i have not been to a neurologist so i wouldn't be able to have anyone to ask about that
like would a head MRI show any of that sorta thing? or what else would if anything to either confirm or rule out nerve problems.... ive also been told i have a pretty bad case of dysautonomia with postural orthostatic tachycardia so it seems something in my nervous system is off
the only reason i threw in the toothpain is because since the pain is along the roots of my teeth is could be sensitized nerves as well ??

The skin redness on nose and near nose sounds like a malar rash, so a rheumatologist might say you have lupus, especially if you have a positive ANA or skin biopsy.
From what you say, it seems as if light and/or heat increases your discomfort, which is also typical of lupus or MS. Does the sun make you worse? Do you get sick after being in the sun?
Ask your LLMD to do an ANA. If it is positive, you could be having an autoimmune reaction to Lyme, which will settle down with treatment and time. You could also see if you have the HLA-DR4 genetic type, which would predispose you to autoimmune stuff with Lyme.
I have everything you describe, and have a very positive ANA. Lyme treatment helped but did not completely get rid of everything. But it really did improve things.
