Ok so I went to my first LLMD appointment today and am given a new cocktail of pills here it goes
200mg of Doxy 2x day Clarithromycin 500mg 2x daily 200mg Hydroxychloroquine 2x daily 2 shots of Bicillin (sp) on in each cheek once a week (dose 2.4 million a week) Thyroid medicine (not sure what, have to pick that up tomorrow) B6 for leg swelling (edema)
ok so I'm a little freak because it seems like alot and the fact that PLAQUENIL is an immnuosuppresant really freaks me out. Any feedback and advice how do I protect my body from harm?
Thanks

He prescribed Plaquinel too?

The Hydroxychloroquine is the planquinl just generic, is that weird?

Many of us are on plaquenil. Not sure why that comment was made. Be sure you start your meds one at a time, waiting a few days between them. This helps if you have a negative reaction to something. You will know what it is by doing this.

thyroid ... synthroid; START IMMEDIATELY in morning on EMPTY STOMACH!
i'll let others comment on rest...
they are being aggressive, and that will help you get into REMISSION SOONER. best wishes! Posted by Geet3721 (Member # 15751) on :
as always thank you for all your replies I feel a little less freaked out

Is you thyroid med synthroid or Armour Thyroid.
My LLMD said that as we deal with the Lyme and coinfections sometimes our thyroids start to funtion better. You can come off Armour Thyroid even after years, but not with Syntroid.
Just thought I'd share what I learned. After I was on the Zhang protocol for 2 months I only needed half of my original dose. I don't take any now.
Remember to start one med at a time.
Wishing you Healthy Healing.

Thank is interesting to know. . . its Synthyroid, so if I start I can never stop? I have a prescription of Armour too from a previous doctor maybe I should fill that instead.
Thanks for the input.

Looks like a well-planned attack. Personally, I would want Armour over Synthroid.

Thanks again for feedback I'm going to email the doctors office tomorrow and see what they say about possibly getting Armour instead of synthroid
another questions do the shots in the A$$ hurt? I'm being a baby I know but I here mixed things, its no big deal and wow they really hurt

I was abl to get armour instead of synthroid so again thank you all my dosage is so little though I wonder if its going to help only 25 mg

What sends up a RED FLAG for me is taking Bicillin along with Doxy...this is never prescribed by good LLMD's.
Simply Google: Doxy with Penicillin...

Hey JRWagner,
I sent you a PM, when I google them I had a hard time finding anything, it may just be me, but I couldn't see why it was bad to take them together, please advise.
I find this very interesting, thanks for the concern!

I agree that you should start slowly. My experience with Doxy was a lot of nausea, I wouldn't pop 200mg x 2 on the first day. And take it with something in your stomach.
Try 100mg twice a day for a few days, see how you feel, how much you have to eat to not feel horrible, etc.
Perhaps ask your LLMD which drugs to take first, second, etc. Would be hard to tell an allergic reaction if you took them all the first day.
Plaquenil was pretty benign for me, however my Mom is having a bad reaction to it after being on it about a month(throwing up, etc). You can develop a reaction at any time.

pennicllin is taken down by tetra class abx, except for the ceftin class penny like abx.
BUT, your doctor may be on track...as I tell you what...some abx that appear to fight each other..sometimes end up making each other stronger.
Since bicclin is very long acting, if your doxy dose was spread away from your bicclin dosage...it may not matter one bit.
Another example of a contradiction along with syenergy is ampicclin and gentimicin.

you were wondering if bicillin shots hurt... from my experience, yes. BUT, they're not nearly as bad as lyme symptoms! So be encouraged... you can do it!
Some tips that have helped me:
warm the medicine in your hands to body temp (don't shoot it in cold!)
take your weight off of the muscle that you're shooting it into and make sure it's completely relaxed
dart the needle in quickly ("slow-poking" is torture and for me causes more bruising)
stick it into upper, outside quadrant of tush
once the needle's in, pull back the plunger thing (called aspirating or something) for 10+ seconds to make sure it's not sucking up blood--if it is you've hit a vein and you don't want to proceed--pull the needle out and try again
then shoot the bicillin in pretty slowly
You're muscle will probably be sore to walk on for about an hour, but then it gets better.
Hope this helps. The first time is totally scary before you do it... you just stare at the needle, then your butt, then the needle again and think "how am I ever going to do this?", but then somehow you do and from then on you get more and more comfortable with it.

This is way out there but I been using vet version of bicclin CR (not LA) so you need to use it more often and a higher dose. But it dont hurt since it contains procaine for pain releif.

That's a really good protocol! Keep taking that and you'll get better. Your LLMD may increase the Biaxin to 1,500 mg/day in time but with Plaquenil your fine the way it is! Good luck! Posted by chlorophyll (Member # 9667) on :
To reduce pain and increase absorbtion, try putting an ice pack on the injection site for 20 minutes or so before the bicillin injection. Then, you can put a heat pack on it after. Learned this from the nurse at my LLMD.

Your LLMD should have explained that the (generic) Plaquenil will alter the pH in your cells and make the clarithromycin more effective. It works better with a pH that is less acidic (as I remember).
Its immunosuppressant qualities are not all that strong, and can help with any autoimmune/inflammatory stuff going on with your Lyme.
Two members of my family did Plaquenil along with antibiotics for a couple of years with no harm done. But get your eyes checked in 6 months for rare side effect from the Plaquenil. They will do some special testing, and it is very, very unlikely that you will have the side effect, and it is reversible too.

DON'T FORGET THE PROBIOTICS

Another really effective way to reduce injection pain is to lay face down with toes pointed inward and body completely relaxed while another person gives the shot, following guidance from others in how the shot should be given. This made all the difference in the world when compared to a standing or slight bending shot, even while "relaxed."

it helped me to keep a hot rice bag around for my neck - it got really sore and stiff from the plaquenil- good luck!
