I am running a fever just about every evening, usually tops out at around 100.5-101 degrees.
So should I let the fever do it's thing or take something to bring it back down to normal?
Wouldn't be so bad if I weren't the kind of person who freezes their butt off when I get the slightest temp.

well, already took some tylenol before I posted this topic. Maybe tomorrow night if I get one, I'll just let it do it's thing.

Definitely let it run it's course. Fevers are your body's way of fighting infection. You only want to treat it when it gets out of control or if you are very uncomfortable.
And Tylenol is hard on the liver so you don't want to be taking that stuff unnecessarily when detox is so important.

I had a constant fever for almost 6 months after I got sick. I also hate the cold feeling. I actually had a fever last night, but think I was catching something because hubby has it tonight and is not Lyme pos
I agree about not taking the tylenol. My mom always said that a fever is a good thing, I only take it if it is hindering my sleep because sleep is so important for healing.

I try to always let my fever run it's course.. as long as you aren't so feverish that you are delerious. It's the body's way of fighting, so I don't want to suppress it. Cold cloths and lukewarm showers help to cool down if needed.

I think it depends upon the source of the infection. If it's from Lyme, then you may as well take something for it....it's not going to "run its course" any time soon.

Isn't "taking something" for it causing interference with your immune system though?
I have fevers constantly (except for the days where my temp hovers at 96 degrees)
The fevers aren't high so I don't feel they are causing damage to my body. It's just my body fighting.
I guess if it's really bothering you then take something.. but why put more stress on your liver if you don't really need to?

Let it run its course...for sure.
Chills happen almost exactly 20 minutes before your fever spikes.
I've seen this over and over and over.

Chills with no fever, thats me. Once in a while I have a low grade fever, but usually when I have those horrible chills my temp is below normal. I just started Babesia treatment. Is Babesia what is causing these chills?

My sister has had a fever for 3+ years. We often give her something for it, just because it makes some of her symptoms (like eye pain, and headaches) feel a little bit better.

Will your LLMD consider a trial run of meds for babesia? That will answer the question of whether or not you have it.....and you probably do.
