I am currently taking testosterone prescribed

from my LLMD. Despite the testosterone, high

calorie and high protein intake I am losing

muscle fast and gaining abdominal fat.

My temp readings have been in the 97 degree range

where as they used to be around 98.3 98.5 range.

Sex drive is diminishing, fatigue is getting

worse. Upon rising in the morning my body looks

and feels completely depleted.

I haven't had the hormone panel done as of yet

but have alot of symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue.

Any suggestions would be great!

sounds like adrenal and thyroid issues are your problem. start at www.stopthethyroidmadness.com and/or www.realthyroidhelp.com for more information. The latter site has a special men's forum that you may find helpful.

I was low on testosterone, and my DHEA was low too among other things. You can buy some DHEA at the drugstore, get 25mg and take it once a day, that might help a little bit (even if you don't notice anything). Most likely your DHEA is low too, that's why I mention it.

I've thought about the thyroid issue but I didn't think that muscle loss would be a sign of hypothyroidism.

Listen to me. Get John Lee's book, What your Doctor Has Not Told You... Any of them. Premenopause is good.

I can tell you from experience and from research that the best way to balance your hormones is to incorporate bio-identical progesterone.

Once you get your level up on progesterone, the other hormones follow in line.

My daughter and I have been supplementing for four years, due to the stress of having a chronic illness. Progesterone gets used up first.

It's safe to use. Very safe. But do not get confused with progestin. Anything the doc Rxs you will be PROGESTIN, a synthetic progesterone.

Go go the health food store and get a good bio-identical progesterone that comes in a premeasured pump. Follow the instructions.

My opinion only.

I kid you not, check out the men's forum at www.realthyroidhelp.com, it's not all about thyroid there. You need real help.....you should never just dabble in hormone replacement, you can make things oh so much more worse........

I have been on biodentical hormone replacement for over a year now.I work with a top doc/nationally recognized for his biodentical work out of Jacksonville FL

One of the first things I noticed before treatment was the decrease in my muscle.......everyone tells you your muscle can't convert to fat, but let me tell you, for us, their wrong.......

do your self a favor....visit the site, tell Phil your situation............what do you have to loose?

Men can take 1/8 tsp of progesterone every day. That translates to 10mg.

Your body normally makes that every day, as a man.

John Lee MD has a book for men talking about this issue.

Mob, have you had your testosterone levels checked? That should be guiding the dosage. At your age it should at least be in the 400s. It seems to me that almost all male lymies have clinically low levels. Also, how are you taking it? Some guys do well with the topical gel and others do not. A fairly standard IM dose for a low testosterone adult male is 200mg bi-weekly or 100 mg weekly of testosterone cypionate. Another way of bringing up the testosterone levels is hCG. It's a hormone that stimulate the testes to produce more.

Hi,

I suggest giving acupuncture a shot. It may help to keep your hormones somewhat under control.

I go twice a week. I stopped for a period, and discovered that I became REALLY hairy, and hair began falling from my head (female).

I went back, and there is a clear difference as the hair melts off my legs, and slows with falling from my head.

I go twice a week. It's important to find someone trained in the hospital system in China, who applies the true "medicine". A number of Chinese doctors outside of China do not twist the needles properly. You should feel a deep achy pain, an electric feeling, or heat when the doctor engages the correct point. This nervous system "pain" is the medicine.

Im taking the injections at 200mg a week. I had to the option of taking it at 400mg every two weeks or 200mg/week. That should have me up there pretty high.

I am also on IV Claforan 2gms every 8 hours.
Heparin sodium injections 14000u twice daily

200 mg a week should do it unless it is getting bound. I suggest talking with your about getting your testosterone, free tesosterone, and leutinizing hormone levels checked.

Check growth hormone levels. Supplementing with shots improves the "fat around the middle" and the muscle wasting ... among other things.

Im going to give my doc a call on Monday to see if I can go ahead and have my hormone panel done. He has mentioned the HGH inj. in the past. Does anyone know what the monthly cost of these shots are? Are there competative pharmacies that supply GH?

GH will work for some and not for others. David mentioned HCG. HCG will work if your testes are still functional but there is diminished brain outputs of LH and/OR FSH.

You may want to check your adrenals via urine or saliva testing. Some say other hormones will balance if adrenal hormones are restored to proper levels...see Dr. Jeffries book The Safe Uses of Cortisol.

Also lyme treatment may bring back normal levels of hormones in theory but it will not work for all. My T levels are mid 500s and yet I still don't feel quite right so lyme is working in mysterious ways. The entire HPA gets thrown a curve ball so it's no wonder why we feel so bad...

I'm female. I tried a number of hormone related things... I was taking birth control pills, bio-identical hormones, compounded thyroid pills, herbs, shots of growth hormone, etc. (not all at the same time - LOL).

I don't know about male issues related to hormones but using the infrared light via the LightWorks really seemd to balance out my hormones. I'm no longer using anything for them at this time.

My boyfriend also uses the infrared light but I'm not sure if he has any hormone issues.

This is just a suggestion... You may find some studies about infrared light & endocrine function if you do a search on Google... it's not as far fetched as it seems.

(I do not sell any healthcare items...)

Very expensive if you don't have insurance. Like $3000 a month.

You can try this place as an alternative for HGH -

http://www.ihealthorg.com/default.html

My GH levels were very low. I used their GH & I was able to boost my levels to normal. I had tests before & after. It worked well for me.

I don't say this is for everyone but it was significantly less money than a regular prescription filled at the local drugstore.

You really need to research it to see if it's something you feel comfortable doing.
