Now, both are in high school and having problems. Both re-tested through Igenex. Positive for Lyme and western Dunanci Babesia through Igenex, but not CDC (not a surprise). Original testing only positive for Lyme.
Some LLMD's treat with continous abx and others do a pulse treatment. On every other day for 3 weeks then off for a period of time, then back on.
Question: Do any of you have children who have been treated and are considered cured?
If yes, what type of treatment and for how long?
As you know High School is not a great time to relapse or be re-infected, but I guess it is better now than in College.
I also have Lyme and have been treated now for 5 years. While I am much improved, I am unable to go off abx without symptoms comming back quickly.

My son has been off abx about eight- nine months and doing good on herbs so far. He is not in school tho, he is home-schooled. I think if he attempted to go into regular school it would cause a relapse for him. His stress is minimal right now and I want to keep it that way. I do not consider him to be cured.
I don't think too far into the future, I try to take it one day at a time. If he needs to go back on abx at some point then we will deal with it then.
He was treated by a doctor here in Mi for a little over a year with amox. Then we took him to DR. J in CT. He did over two years of Zithromax and Malarone and did very well with it.
Both my son and I did better with pulse abx and low dose. I would not have made it through my treatment if I would have tried to do high dose abx. I herxed too bad. Even now I herx very badly on low dose abx.

I assume your son had Lyme and Babesia? That's good to hear Dr. J's treatment was successful.
