I've had this before ... but was wondering what you guys have experienced.
When I take deep breaths, I feel lightheaded and sometimes dizzy.
Could this be from asthma?? my heart??
Thanks in advance!! Posted by AZURE WISH (Member # 804) on :
I am lightheadded alot...
for me it is babs i think...
i dont take deep breathes these days due to the amount of pain in my spine so not really sure how that would effect it.
You said you have astma... are you on any meds for it... i was when i was younger and i remember one made me shaky and aa bit lightheaded... so if you are on any meds i would make sure its not a side effect.
I hope you find out what is causing it. I would definetely make your dr aware of it.

Right now I'm on asthmanex...an inhaled steroid. I know, I know...but I have to right now.
Thanks, azure.... I'm sorry you're in such pain. I feel for you, as my sciatic nerve is really bad today and I imagine I won't sleep tonight. UGH.

I just asked my son who has battles with asthma and he said that when he is having an episode and takes a deeper breath he feels very lightheaded and dizzy.
He also has takes asthmanex when his symptoms are bad. I know how hard and tiring it is to have asthma.
Please rest and take care of yourself. Don't over exert yourself right now so you can heal.
I saw that you were at the ER this past week. Take care and please, please, please, Rest, Rest, Rest! Posted by KirstenS (Member # 15146) on :
One question, have you had asthma or heart problems or both?

Don't know if this is what you are talking about but when the Doctor has me take deep breaths i always feel lightheaded and woozy.
i was told that i had asthma 15 years ago when i first became sick and undiagnosed. I don't have it now though. weird.
is this new for you Tutu?

Hi! How are you (other than your post)?? Have you had your f/u apt. with the Cardiologist yet? I hope you're getting the rest you need right now!!!!!!!
As far as getting light headed when you take a deep breath---Yes this does happen to me, but it also happens a lot even when I don't (I think?).
Yes----it could be your heart. Any type of arrythmia can cause it, too fast, too slow, palpatations, etc.... So make sure that the Cardio. does all of the testing nessacary, ie: stress test, echo, 24hr haltor moniter, ect.
Also, forgive me if I'm remembering this wrong!!! Didn't you reply to my post about adrenyl problems? I'm sorry that I didn't reply to tell you thank you; I am very thankful!!!! I was just very sick that day.
Anyway, that can definitly cause it. Especially since your taking a streoid med. for your Asthma right now!!!
That along with the meds. you take for your Adrenyls could really through your hormones (adrenal) off. Which could aggerivate your heart too!!!
Just a few guesses, with Lyme, co-inf., endocrine problems and heart; there's no telling!????
Please let your Dr.'s know and take care of yourself!
With many prayers, Janet

TuTu,
I don't have that symptom, so I don't have anything to offer as far as advice but I do want to give you a hug and tell you how sorry I am that you're having such a tough time lately!
I hope that you feel better soon. When is your appt. with the cardiologist again? Keep us posted!

Thanks lauren, scared, Kirsten, and FIT. One tiny problem is that when you have asthma, you shouldn't take beta blockers.
I've been on a beta blocker about 7 yrs, going on 8.
Thanks, Kirsten about telling me what your son said. So I guess it's the asthma. The times I feel it the most is when I'm asked to take deep breaths by the doctor.
I feel like I'm gonna pass out or something.
You know, cortef is thrown off during high stress/surgery....so that makes sense that it could affect my heart too.
Can't wait to ask DR C about it.
I've had two echos in the past two months, 12 EKGs at last estimated count, a stress test, and two Holter monitors.
They SHOULD have everything they need now! I can't wait to see my bills!!!!
