I have access to one at the local gym and have thought about using it. Any thoughts or experiences - good or bad about sauna

I have been using it for the past month. It is awesome. i do 15 minutes. and it puts a spring in my step...stands to reason i'm, detoxing because of the good sweat you get going.

Dave

ps. this is a regular sauna not infrared...i'm going tonight...

I use a personal Far Infrared sauna. In the summer I could only do 30 minutes once or twice per week.

Now I try to do three times per week but it's even better to do more.

It's a great way to detox. This was the best investment I've ever made. When I'm feelling sick most of the time a 30 minutes session will improve my symptoms immediately and then for the following day.

An example of what I use:

I like it that my head is outside the sauna as I don't like to breath hot air.

Hi,
I can't even do 15 min in the Far Infrared sauna without feeling like I could pass out. I also, drink lots of water.

I am also feel the same in a hot bath or too much sun.

I guess the bugs really dislike heat.

If you can do five minutes in an infrared, you are doing well. Anything to simulate a fever will help.

We did the dry sauna at the gym for about year. It was pretty harsh. 180 degrees. Especially when I had already been out in the AZ heat for an hour doing crosswalk duty.

We eventually purchased an infrared sauna to have at home. It feels great. Good sweat with less oppressive heat.

Try dry brushing your skin before you get in and, yowsers! My daughter said she was drenched.

The personal sauna looks better for someone who still has mercury in their mouth. If we vaporize more mercury with the heat it is better to avoid breathing in as much as we can.

This is not medical advice, just sharing what has been shared with me.

Oh, I should have mentioned that you should start slow. I've been in treatment and detoxing for 2 1/2 years. And my Dr. told me to drink lots of water with Trace Minerals.
