I have been on Doxy, Rifampin and Zith for about 4 months now for Lyme and Bartonella. I was doing a lot better. But now I am starting to get symptoms again. Most of my symptoms are mostly in my Bones. Its horrible Bone pain. I have been going to a pain speciliast as well. I have tried lyrica, Topamax (which i am still on for migraines its great for that) Amitriptalyine which helped a lot but i couldnt deal with the weight gain... skelaxin and flexaril (spelling sorry!) the muscle relaxers dont do a thing. Tramadol... that didnt help. a very low dose of loratab. That didn't work. Nothing seems to help.

I am starting to think that i have something else doing on other then Lyme. Is actually BONE pain a symptom? legs hips arms? Not muscles though and not my joints. Its so weird. and nothing helps the pain really.

Its so frustrating. I know a lot of people are in the same shoes i am in if not worse. I just need so advice.

thank you [confused]

Katiegirl,

I use to have horrid bone pain. At the time, I was being treated for Bartonella.

This bone pain was so bad, I could hardly stand to walk on my feet because it would put pressure on the bones in my feet.

It did go away with bartonella treatment. But now I'm back on treatment...this time the IV route and I have the bone pain back.

I'm hoping that doesn't mean the bartonella is back, but I do know that in my case, I was able to get rid of mine completely with various bartonella meds.

As far as how to deal with the pain.... wow, I wish I knew since I don't think I've found anything that totally takes it away.

Good luck to you. Hopefully someone will come along that has some solid advice to offer you.

Cathy

It can also be a sign of low vitamin D, common in Lyme sufferers, plus the fact that it is starting when the days are shorter and the sunlight (the main source of our vitamin D) not as strong...

I too have bone pain and my LLMD is working on my Vitamin D levels for it. It takes awhile to get them to the normal level, so please get your levels checked and see if that helps. I do know that if I skip my Vit. D a few days that my bone pain flares up. My LLMD gave me high doses for a couple weeks and now I'm leveling off. I use tramadol for the pain.

Hey, thanks you two. Like Katiegirl, I've had some pretty horrific bone pain in the past and then again recently.

I haven't had my Vit D checked in awhile I don't believe, so it is another route I should check.

I had low vitamin D. I have the bone pain. I have fibromyalgia. Taking zith for it.

My most frequent bone pain is in my left ankle and foot. Sometimes the bottom of the foot. Somedays worse then others. Also had foot cramping in my left arch that has gotten a lot better.

Katiegirl,

I am sorry you feel this way. I have the same thing. It is so hard to explain to others, for it is the strangest feeling.

It can really ruin an otherwise good day. I take 2 extra-strength Tylenol and 1 Aleve. I think it's ok to mix the two, but I am not a medical professional, so you may want to check with your Dr. first.

I hope your pain goes away soon.

mazou
