Last night my 6 year old daughter complained that her leg was hurting. I looked at where she said it hurt and it looked like it could be a bulls eye rash about an inch and a half in diameter. The "inner circle" was a darker pink and about one third of an inch in diameter. So she went to bed and this morning the entire thing shrunk. It is now about 3/4 of an inch in diameter and most of the "outer" pinkness is gone. The entire 3/4 inch diameter is a darker purplish red. It is not itchy at all to her. It is sore to the touch and she says it hurts even when it's not being touched. I know it could be a spider bite or other kind of bug bite. What does it sound like to you guys? I know lyme is a possibility where we live though, as I and my 9 year old son contracted it this summer.

Take a picture NOW and get her a LLMD and get her on? kids cant take any cycilines tetra,doxy,mino. They can start on amoxicillin.

If it is a bullseye, it is diagnostic of Lyme. So don't wait for a positive test (which you probably won't get anyway)-- get her on an amoxicillin treatment as per the recommendations of Dr. J. Burrascano (which should be at the top of the forum.) Undertreated Lyme can progress to the stage at which it causes lifelong illness within just a few weeks, so you can't really can't afford to treat this as if it's something else.
You may hear something quite different from your pediatrician, but you shouldn't let that deter you; all but an absolutely miniscule segment of the general medical community is completely misinformed about tick-borne disease, as we here have all learned the hard way. Call Dr. J's office. They are very helpful. I am sorry your family is going through this, especially in NC. Can you also call your LLMD?
