I think I get what you mean.
Almost every day I feel like my tongue is really heavy, or sometimes makes it really difficult to eat. I become hyper aware of my tongue and it is incredibly uncomfortable!

Me too and I was trying to describe this to my doctor and he looked at me like I was crazy. Also have strange neck sensations. Strange.

My tongue sort of "feels big" like it's swollen
sometimes. I looked in the mirror and it indeed
looked swollen.
Also, it moves around on its own, twitches
& "flips out" occasionally. Because the lyme
infection affects various cranial nerves. Weird
tongue behavior, facial paralysis, tingling,
twitching...all part of it. I've had my teeth
move on their own from spasms as a consequence.

Hi,
This also happens to me a lot! My tongue swells, pulls up and back---feels like it pulls from the middle up, the the roof of my mouth and back.
Sometimes is will pull to the left, and others it hangs out just past my teeth.
My throat also swells and it's hard to swallow.
I'm sorry you're dealing with this too! I've had this for years but this is the first time I've seen anyone else talk about it!
At least none of us are alone!

Hi there!
Tongue issues can sometimes in Lyme Patients also be an indication that you may need more B12.
You can google b12 and tongue and read about all kinds of things.
I know that one of the main dietary suplements for Lyme patients is to take B-complex. I know my b12 level was very low when I was dx with Lyme and I have taken b12 injections weekly and got my level back up and now take B-complex daily.
Don't know if that is you problem or not, but I hope this may be of some help.
