One of my first symptoms at the onset of illness was bladder problems. I felt like I had a UTI but tested negative.

My bladder constantly felt full, my stomach is bloated and I have to constantly urinate (it doesn't burn when I do so).

I went to the doctor who checked for ovarian cysts or any abnormalities and didn't find anything. It eventually went away, but since I've been treating lyme (a year later!) it has come back.

It comes and goes: bloated, bladder full, makes me feel like I have a UTI...but then it will go away the next day (the few times I had urine tests it was negative for infection).

Does anyone else have this? I thought it was a symptom of lyme but I just checked the symptom list and didn't see it.

I'll go back to the doctor again but wanted to check here in the interim.

Definitely: I would urinate, go to the store 5 minutes away, and feel like I had taken in a gallon of water and had to pee NOW! It was very confusing to me. I didn't figure it out until I got treated for Lyme and those symptoms disappeared.

Only recently did I see, in the Spring 2008 issue of Lyme Times, the section on Vargus nerve involvement in Lyme and that was an eye opener because it all fit!

One the symptoms is "frequency of urination" as well as slurred speech, palpitations, high blood pressure, difficulty swallowing, etc.

YES! I had urinary frequency, urgency, hesitating when starting to urinate, trouble getting all the urine out, and my bladder always felt full, but never any pain urinating.

This all started when all my other lyme symptoms were really bad. I had a test looking for a UTI, nothing was found.

Over time the bladder symptoms got better. However I still have urgency sometimes.

I know how you feel, it really sucks! There were times it was so bad that I would pee every five minutes for about a half hour!

You could have Interstitial Cystitis. I and many others here have it .. as a result of Lyme disease.
