This is so scary....I get this wierd feeling in my body that I cannot put into words. You just know something is wrong....I feel like I am getting ready to die...and this is not anxiety.
Everytime it has happened I haven't even been upset, the only thing I have noticed its that it seems like it happens afetr eating. Everytime I ate something different though.
I know I sound crazy....oh how I wish I could put it into words. I can't. It is the worst and most scary of all my symptoms.
This is like the 4th time I have done this. It started about 4 to 6 months ago.
It is just a weird feeling in your body, sort of feels like you might pass out, no sweat though. Throat feels like it is closing up too. Almost nasuea too.
Anyone else

Have you ever been tested for food allergies? -- could be some additive like peanut oil or sulphites used on salad bars or something like that.

Is it like a massive fatugue attack?...I call it "falling into a hole". It feels that way for me...like I'm going to pass out but I don't. I have felt like I was going to die at times but I don't do that either!
It can turn into anxiety because all of your adrenalin kicks in and then you have a panic attack...that's one of my major symptoms that brought me to a doctor.
You could be pushing too hard. You could also be dehydrated or have low blood sugar. I have found that if eat more proteins and less carbs I feel better.
I also know that my body is fighting against those little bugs that are reeking havoc on my immune system and so the body is trying to protect itself. Drink lots of fluids, avoid caffeine, eat protein in the morning and take it easy on your self. Like BettyG says...learn to say no and become a type B!

I completely understand I get this often.
My theory and its only a theory is that I get some sort of indigestion and I feel that in my body and start to panic and therefore go into a full blown attack because I start to feel like I'm dying.
I am not an anxiety person at all prior to LD I was free spirited and easy going, I did not want to admit I was having anxiety problems, but the way I knew that it had to be at least some what anxiety related is that when I take a valium and just relax and breathe I feel better.
I would talk to your LLMD and see if they could offer you something to take. There is no shame in dealing with anxiety, LD is horrible and as I am learning effects everything in your body.
I'm not a doctor I've just been there and this is only my opinion.
Hope you feel better

Try checking your blood pressure if this happens again. If it is low, it could be a symptom of dysautonomia, particularly if you feel like passing out.
POTS can cause your heart to race.
Have you ever taken your BP lying down and then sitting/standing up?

thanks ya'll....definitley NOT anxiety. When it happens it's usually been when I was doing good. No worries.
Also, a little while after the episode, I had to pee, 6 TIMES, in about 1 - 1 1/2 hours. I hadn't even drank anything but a few sops of water.
Every 5 to 15 minutes I had to pee.... A LOT....not a trickle!!
That seems weird to me too. How can u pee that much when u haven't drank all day?
This has now happened to me about 6 times over about 5 months. It also seems to happen a lot after eating something.
I don't know...scares me more than any other symptom I have had in 16 years.

I have panic attacks I think are brain bart herx related.
I generally just deal with it...it usually follows improvment.

Katc,
I get a similar thing. It's like an 'episode'. And it feels very, very bad. I also get the peeing thing.....and it's not that I just 'feel' like I have to go, but I go a lot, and get dehydrated.
I usually have lots of palps with it, stomach swells a bit often.
In a way, it's like a panic attack, but a reverse one. If my body goes/feels so wrong and so crazy, eventually it scares the heck out of me.
I've posted about this before myself, and I've read posts from Clint and others about it.
I had it today, so it's.....right there in my head. These last for me anywhere between 1-6 hours.
It's like a lot of symptoms. I read that others here have them, but it still scares me to death.

Sounds to me like a sudden drop in cortisol levels. That will make you dump water and salt, and cause low blood pressure.
What is causing the drop is the mystery. It can be caused by any kind of stress to the body. Stress can include a food allergy, or low blood sugar, etc.
Are you using any artificial sweeteners? Sometimes people will get low blood sugar as soon as they eat because your insulin level rises when you taste something sweet, but the food doesn't turn into glucose until a short while after you have eaten.
Also could have something to do with feeding a candida or other fungal. From the meal you might get candida growth, and then later after the meal you can get die-off and neuro-toxins.

Bejoy,
Hi. Please don't take my response here as being contrarian.
I've had my cortisol levels checked a number of times--if anything, they've been a bit high. My blood sugar, checked also. Both were tested when or shortly after I had an 'episode' like this.
I also had a test for a particular kind of idiopathic food allergy. I can't remember the exact name for it--but 'feeling of doom' was actually something my rhuem asked me at the time if I experienced. And he wasn't asking, implying I was mental, he said it was part of the disorder. But I came up clean on those tests.
No answers from any of it (those tests were all prior to my lyme diagnosis).
However, you're right, and your ideas might well explain Kathy's issues. Even if I have a similar experience, it doesn't mean that it's really the SAME thing with the same cause.
I just know with myself, there seems to be no real good reason.
