Background - had CDC positive Lyme test on October 14th. IgM 23 and 41 positive. IgG all negative. Second Lyme test taken 15th day of doxy - only 41 IgM and IgG positive.
I am currently having my 2nd relapse. The first relapse started about about 12 days after I first started feeling better and this 2nd one started about 10 days after I "recovered" from the first relapse.
Symptoms of the first relapse were high fever, chills, muscle aches/weakness, sweating. I developed anemia (hematocrit low) and my C-reactive protein and erythrocyte sedimentation values were elevated.
Symptoms of second relapse plus some new ones. I have been having a very rapid heart rate (120 when I got to PCP today). I had an EKG and it was fine. My breathing is labored, especially when I'm experiencing a fever.
I also mentioned that I thought my diaphragm was very sore and hurt when I breathed deeply. When the Dr. examined me and pressed hard on that area it was very sore but it was in the area of my liver. He said it wasn't obviously inflammed but there is clearly something going on there.
Dr. is checking my thryoid, liver values, running another mono test, implanted the TB test and I had a chest xray.
I go to see an ID specialist in the ID critical care unit on Friday b/c none of the true LLMDs have been able to fit me in as of yet. My PCP doesn't feel comfortable with a definite Lyme diagnosis at this time.
Also, she prescribed 1500mg/day of Amoxicilan for 21 days thinking possibly the doxy was ineffective for me. I think this dose is probably too low as well.
Has anyone experienced these heart/breathing and pain under ribcage (Liver area) with Lyme??
I need Dr. House!!

tree patrol - thank you for your response.
I was not on Doxy while experiencing these new symptoms. I only took Doxy for 21 days (200mg/day). My prescription ended on November 6th.
The only thing I was taking was ibuprofen and Tylenol.

I have elevated heart rate and tenderness in my sternum. My sister had all that you describe a number of years ago.
