Many of you seem to know exactly which bands of your western blot exposed infection. The test results that I was able to acquire only say negative and state <.91 and do not give specifics about bands. How were you able to get the details. Also,is it typical for doxycycline to be prescibed at a low dose and then gradually increased over time? One LLMD I have seen said that the 200mg per day perscribed by the other LLMD was a "baby dose" I am also taking Artemisinin and Samento Toa Free. Any insight as I am so unsure of either of the doctors so far. Please advise.

Did you have a test through Igenx or just a basic lyme test? Some dr's will start their patients out on a very low dose of antibiotics and then ramp up from there.
Does your dr know about the alternative meds you are taking as well? You always want to be careful about interactions and stuff like that.
Talk to your dr about obtaining copies of your test results and make sure he explains EVERYTHING!

Actually it was my doc that prescribed the Artemisin and the Samento Tao free. I am wondering also if anyone else knows about this combination of treatments. It is in conjunction with an herblist and MD who are one in the same.
It was the western blot, but the results offered were so vague. Is my general prctitioner keeping something from me by not exposing the 'band' info, or does she recieve vague info from the lab?

What lab did your test. You can google the lab and perhaps they have instructions on how to read the results, or better yet call your doctor or the lab directly.
Sometimes doxy is given in small doses in the beginning if the doctor wants to "ramp up" given the patients history.

Those sound like the results of an ELISA test, not a Western Blot.

That is the ELISA test. I had it before I had the WB. It is even more inaccurate than the WB. It does not contain bands.

Ramp up is a term when a treatment is started on lower doses, and then it is increased slowly.
Sometimes this helps to get a person accustomed to treatment slowly to avoid major herxes, especially if that person has a serious case of lyme and co's.
