I did. Many people here report low vitamin D (25D). Low 25D appears to be common in all in the L-form bacterial infections, such as lyme.

Uninfected people rarely need to also test 1,25D because for them 25D can serve as a proxy for 1,25D level. But for lymies testing the biologically active vitamin D (1,25D) is a must since it is likely to be high.

Testing only 25D can lead to the mistaken belief that vitamin D supplements are needed. But if 1,25D is already high, supplementing vitamin D can drive 1,25D even higher. High 1,25D has many negative health consequences, and is reported to interfere with proper immune function, thus making it even tougher to eradicate the lyme infection.

How do you get the level of 1,25D down when it is too high?
My reg vitD is very, very low and the 1,25D is high. Since you say HIGH 1,25D is not good....is there a way to bring that level down?
I do not presently supplement with Vit D3 by the way.

cordor - the sources of D are diet and light exposure. Fish is very high in D, next highest on the list are fortified foods like fortified milk and cereals. After that avoiding sunlight helps too. It takes months for the levels to drop. When I got my 1,25D reduced, my teeth stopped breaking, my headaches reduced greatly, and my immune system worked better as evidenced by herx.
