I have had FUO for 2 years, been to 4 Dr.s, several lyme tests, all negative. Had bone marrow biopsy (painful!!), normal results. Have lost 20 lbs, weigh 120 5'5". Constant fatigue, frequent headaches, muscle aches. All symptoms started after falling hard on one side of my face on the ice. Normal CT, slightly elevated WBC. Doctors I have went to in Missouri seem clueless. My PCP gave me 4 weeks of Doxycycline at my urging, no relief. I don't know that I have Lyme but my symptoms seem to fit. My kids want their mom back...help me please!!

Julie,

Do you recal feeling anything differently when you were on the abx???

Increase or decrease in symptoms? If so, which symptoms felt different or any new ones?

Elizabeth

PS have you been to a LLMD(Lyme Litereate medical Doctor?) or have you been tested with the Western Blot Lyme test? Have you had any Lyme tests run? Have you ever had a bulls-eye rash, or seen a tick on you?

Sure sounds like Lyme, especially the part about it starting after an injury.

Julie,

Also meant to mention that many times Lyme is lurking in your body and after a traumatic event like a death or an accident etc....that is when we begin to see symptoms.

My symptoms for instance began after the death of two very close ppl to me, even though I had been exposed to the tick bit 13 yrs prior to that.(I even had the EM rash 13 yrs prior and was not treated correctly).

Lo and behold 13 yrs later symptoms started the day after the funeral of one of my dearest friends.

Anyway, just thought that might be helpful too.

Elizabeth

Please feel free to ask any questions you have.

Hi THere.. There are some other recent posts about people feeling sick or worse after some sort of accident or impact on their bodies..
I would search around for those too for some helpful information.
And as well see a doctor for a full battery of tests for these issues we are all dealing with from a Lyme doctor.

No change in symptoms while on abx other than fever was a little lower until I finsihed them then was right back where I started. I haven't found a LLMD. I had a western blot and several other lyme tests (I told every Dr I saw that I thought what I had was tick borne), all negative. I live in a area heavily populated with ticks and I have spent a lot of time camping and hiking. I do remember 22 years ago being very sick (105+ fever), while living in Colorado (didn't go to a Dr.) don't remember having a bullseye rash but I was a teenager. I have read several things that say lyme lab tests can give false positives...any advice on that? How do I find a LLMD in my area? I am shocked that the infectious disease Dr's in this area know so little about Lyme and I have even been told that there is NO Lyme disease in Missouri!!
