I would take with plenty of food, lots of PROBIOTICS!!!..

Pills can destroy your gut flora quickly.

I take ceftin after breakfast and dinner.

It has worked very well for me, in combination with babesia tx. Not everyone herxes, but I did for the first couple of weeks.
I take a much higher dosage of ceftin then you will be doing.

Remember to take plenty of probiotics about 2-3 hours apart from the ceftin and hope it works well for you.

I took it for a month. Didn't do much at all for me. I certainly didn't get cured like Dr. B. [Smile] It wasn't too bad on my stomach thought. Clindamycin is much toughter IMO.

is there a difference to take the probitotics before or after

or maybe should i take them both before and after each does of antibiotic ?

also taking high doses of probiotics is more beneficial or not ?

thank you.

If you get the generic Cefuroxime, not the brand name Ceftin it really tastes terrible and starts to foam and disolve as soon as it hits your mouth. One thing that I found that helped my son was to coat the pill in cooking oil before he took it - the taste is almost completely gone then.

For the probiotic it depends on how much you take, but the most important thing is to separate the timing of the probiotics and antibiotics as much as possible - otherwise the antibiotic in your GI tract will start killing off the probiotic before it can take hold.

anyone also know if Ceftin also treats coinfections as well not just Lyme ?

Ask you doctor about Actigall or its generic version, Ursodiol.

High dose cephalosporins can damage your gallbladder leading to severe abdominal pain and perhaps eventual gallbladder surgery.

This medication will help protect you from such an outcome.

High dose probiotics also are absolutely necessary.

Godspeed.
