Thanks to one of our memebers I saw this site.

Someone has decided to say something about the poor quality tests that Labcorp charges people for... and has set up this website.

They also tell folks how to file a complaint if you've had a negative test or negative experience dealing with their labs... which TONS of us have had in the past... and many of us have become chronically ill and/or disabled because of it.

I feel Labcorp should be addressed harshly... mostly due to the destruction they have caused in our lives by having rotten tests and when approached about it, they ignore the problems.

In Maryland alone, for example, the bad Lyme tests bring in over $3 MILLION for the labs. That is in ONE state in ONE year.

Yes, Labcorp sucks is right.

Anyhow...

Here is the main site link:

This link below shows some locations in Florida.. but also shows insurance companies, etc that do business with Labcorp.

Is YOUR insurance company in bed with Labcorp? If so.. you might want to put some pressure on them to go elsewhere for their tests.

I think I'll go there...some years ago I had the labcorp lyme 'test'.

they didn't even report bands on the WB and just called the test 'negative', even though their ELISA showed +4.89 (1.20 is positive)

Amanda, the answer to your question is yes, but LabCorp is notorious for incorrect results for other tests among other things.

Also, if Lab Corp, Quest, and all these other lab companies used by HMO doctors weren't motivated primarily by money, more test results would be accurate (even though lyme should be a clinical diagnosis).

I've had previous tests by both LabCorp and Quest for things other than lyme and they are terrible with customer service.

There was a former employee of LabCorp that said they would treat their customers better if their working conditions weren't disgusting and that the tools they use to run labs weren't outdated.

There was another website that talked about them and former employees from all over the country were talking very badly about their work conditions and what REALLY happens when they handle your bloodwork.

That's why tests for everything from lyme to thyroid disease can be inaccurate.

It's just ashame that so many doctors use these horrible labs.

Personally, I don't mind LapCorp for basic bloodwork. Even my Lyme WB had a few lyme specific bands. I don't trust former employees. They could be embittered or just plain lousy workers. From what I've seen, labs have to maintain some standards as they are inspected from time to time.

I have a friend who was tested through Labcorp recently, her's came back positive and now her physicians are trying to convince her it was a false positive!

Goodness!

I've almost always tested positive through Labcorp too.. when I forced the ducks to test me.

And rather than admit they were wrong.... I was told the same thing.

"Oh no.. it is a FALSE-positive."

BTW- The next excuse will be... if she doesn't swallow that dud of a reason...

"You've been treated and we find sometimes the test will stay positive for a while.. but it doesn't mean you HAVE Lyme. You are cured."

Gimme an I.. Gimme a D..

Gimmee an I.. Gimmee an O..

Gimme a T!

What does that spell?

The Infectious Diseases Society of America.

Oops! I mean IDIOT!!!
