I can't sleep. Because I am itching all over. From head to toe. This is totally new for me. I'm pretty sure that I've not come into contact with any of my known allergens (cashew nuts, some kinds of laundry detergent).

I feel like there are little bugs crawling all over me. (Ironically, similar to when I'd come back from working the family farm in Oklahoma and I'd be covered in ticks. Never thought it was a big deal then!)

My meds haven't changed, and this has started all of a sudden.

Could this be a new Lyme symptom? I hesitate to blame all of my troubles on Lyme, but it's been the cause of so many of them that I always suspect.

Thoughts? Advice?

I can't say for certain what is going on with you. I can tell you that 2 1/2 months into treatment with abx I herxed very badly and I itched everywhere. This was a totally new symptom. I thought I would scratch my scalp off. It was at Thanksgiving. I kept asking my family to look at my scalp and tell me if it was red or raw or irritated. It was none of those things. It passed when the herx passed.

I just experienced a smaller version of it with this month's herx.

It could be lyme. It could be a herx.

If it's not an allergy, then it's a herx symptom. My daughter gets it in her lower legs.

Your body releases histimines when you have an infection.

Vistaril or Zyrtec work great for my daughter.

Detoxing, like sweating, helps too.

Could this be a pancreas reaction? I know people with diseased it can produce severe itching.

Here are some things that have helped my husband with the itches/ creepie crawlies:

Detoxing--various supplements, FIR sauna, epsom salt baths

Artemisinin gel (Allergy Research group)

Peppermint enzyme spray (Safe Solutions)

Cat's Claw (Raintree)

Antibiotics that seem to have helped with this symptom: Rifampin, Malarone

In my husband's case, I think this symptom has had different causes at different times--including Lyme, babesia, bartonella, and neurotoxins. But it has gotten better over time. Now it flares, rather than being ever-present.

Are you doing things to detox, along with your meds?

Remember that your skin is your largest detox organ, so anything you can do to detox through your skin will have a large impact.
