Barbara Loe Fisher's son had neurological damage done by one of the vaccines he had when a child. the Thimerasol in the vaccines is a trigger for Autism, or mercury poison. Don't vaccinate your kids with vacines containing Thermersoal, or aluminim. Do your HW first. Japan does not begin innoculations until the child is 2 years old, and they don't have an Autism epidemic like we do in the States.

Thanks for posting this! I have unfortunately vaccinated my 4 year old twin boys (who both have lyme) but do not want to continue the vaccinations for my 2 year old daughter (who also has lyme).
I was wondering how to get an exemption from the vaccines so this site really helps.

tickbattler, here's information on vaccine exemptions in Pennsylvania.
I have a vaccine damaged nephew, and his brother died at 3 months after his dpt shot (25 years ago). I didn't even question vaccinations. And now I am so glad. In Minnesota we have a philosophical exemption, but with my family history I could probably get a medical. And now with the boys and the congenital lyme, I have NO REGRETS. I think that my kids would have autism, no doubt about it. Vaccinations aren't all bad, but if you don't have a strong liver or immune system (because of a sick mother who doesn't know she is sick), you are playing with fire when you vaccinate. Just my opinion.

Vaccination Decision For Parents:
1. Your doctor is required by law to provide you with vaccine benefit/risk information materials before your child is vaccinated.
2. Your doctor is required by law to keep a permanent record of all vaccinations given, including the vaccine manufacturer's name and lot number.
3. Your doctor is required by law to report all adverse events, including injuries and deaths which occur within 30 days after vaccination to federal health authorities.
4. If your child is left permanently brain damaged or dies as a result of a vaccine reaction, you may be entitled to benefits under the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986.

Become educated about childhood diseases and vaccines. You have the ultimate responsibility for your child's health and well-being and you, not your doctor or state or federal health officials, will live with, and be responsible for the consequences of your decision.
Ask your doctor to give your child a physical exam to make sure your child is healthy before you permit vaccination. A sick child can be at increased risk for having a vaccine reaction.
Write down your child's personal and family medical history listing major illnesses and diseases or medical conditions, especially previous reactions to vaccinations, and have it included in your child's permanent medical records. Before permitting vaccination of your child, ask your doctor if any of these conditions will put your child at risk for having a vaccine reaction. A child who has had a previous severe reaction to a vaccination can be especially at risk for even more severe reactions if more vaccine is given. If you are not satisfied with the answers you are given, get a second opinion.
Monitor your child closely after vaccination. Call your doctor if you suspect a reaction. If your doctor is not concerned and you are, take your child to an emergency room.
Obtain a copy of your state mandatory vaccination laws. Become educated about state vaccine requirements, your rights and legal exemptions to vaccination.
Don't be intimidated by medical personnel and forced into a vaccination decision before you are comfortable with your decision.

Thanks for the info on vaccines.
My 4 year old is completely up to date on his vaccines, but I've held off the MMR for my 2 year old. I'm just not comfortable with that vaccine, and I wasn't when my older son was vaccinated.
My older son got his first MMR when he was 18 months, and I swear his temperament changed shortly after. Everyone says it was just the terrible twos, but I don't know.
I used to work with kids who had autism and other behavior/developmental issues, and there are days when I think my son has some kind of autistic disorder--not full-blown, but definitely something not right.
And I can't help but blame the vaccine, even though the doctor says it wasn't, and she thinks he's completely normal (she's not with him all day every day).
I've considered having the MMR split up, as a friend suggested (both her kids are autistic). I just don't know if it costs more to do that or if insurance wouldn't cover it...
Anyway, thanks for the info!
