Talked to Dr K yesterday following hubby's ER visit on Saturday.

Per Dr K -- now that holidays are over the lab is back to business as usual. He anticipates 16S DNA sequencing of the mystery bug will be complete within 2 weeks barring any additional unforeseen complications.

Confirmed for the 2nd time that Dr K is actually attempting to identify 2 unknown pathogens. Some Lyme patients have both pathogens. Hubby only has one.

The pathogen hubby has is a gram negative extracellular coccobacilli as previously reported.

The 2nd mystery bug may or may not be the same one seen by Dr F. It either is intracellular or is attached to the red blood cells. Not exactly sure which he said.

The only other info I have to add is that hubby finally talked his PCP into testing for immune complexes. Surprised us that test result was normal. I guess this is good news/ bad news -- think it indicates that it is unlikely he is having autoimmune reactions to his tickborne diseases. That's great, but on the other hand it would seem to indicate that the immune system is most likely totally ignoring the mystery bug.

How did you test for autoimmune? Was it the ANA? Thanks for posting all of your updates!

Hi Bea. I spoke to Dr. F last week about Clongen labs.

He said they came to his table at a medical trade show a while back.

It wasn't long after that they started doing the testing for what he's been doing all along.

I think Dr. F and Clongen are finding the same organism.

Fry gets to name it, though.

kelmo,

Clongen has been involved in Morgellon's research for a while. Think that is more likely how they got interested in doing additional testing of Lyme patients. Regardless -- I think it is to everyone's benefit to have 2 labs looking for things instead of just one. The more research the better.
