I am new to all of this and still learning about lyme disease. I was told that I have a 'probable' case of it; ? what ? To me, either you have it, or you don't. Whatever. Forgive me, but I'm not feeling well today..lol
Anyways, my ID doctor initially found bartonella which is why I'm on the tetracycline and then more of the LD symptoms started to show. I've had a lot of the symptoms before this as cfs/fm have been part of my life for years. But since taking the abx it is getting worse. What I have had in 3 years are one sided symptoms of tingling, throbbing and feelings of some numbness all down my right side, from ear lobes to feet. And it's worse.
Now, all down that same side I feel like I'm swollen. And I can *see* that I am swollen certain areas. Has anyone else felt this, and only on one side? I've mentioned this on my initial post, but I'll mention it again, that I do not recall any bite, or rash. I did have my blood test done at igenex last year. IgG and IgM both neg. IgG only band pos. #41+, and IgM band #31 +++, and # 41 IND. So my diagnoses is being made on a clinical basis only.
Has anyone else noticed only one sided symptoms and also the feeling of swelling? It's the swelling that's different and new, and should I be seeing the doc about this?

I would contact the doc.
While one sided symptoms are not that unusual,
They can also be signs/symptoms of other things.

petal, i have extreme pain on my ENTIRE RIGHT side of body but back is the worst. you canNOT touch me at all; i hurt so bad. no one has ever figured out why.
1-sided reminds me also of strokes! mri showed i had a stroke a LONG time ago; decades!

A majority of my symptoms have been on the left side of my body.
Lyme is not a cut and dry diagnosis, many, many illnesses are misdiagnosed as lyme.
My suggestion is to study and make sure what you are studying is accurate information. Check the links below, check Resources and these links will lead you to a world of reliable information.
Many have been diagnosed with Fm/CFS before being correctly diagnosed with Lyme - including me.
You need a good Lyme literate Md and testing that is accurate at a tick borned specialty labe Igenex. An Id doc in most cases will not treat lyme as it needs to be treated, anything less than an LLMD will undertreat and not understand the full ramifications of Lyme and or know how necessary it is to test for co-infections.

When symptoms are one-sided it can make a person wonder about things. Hopefully I have nothing *more* to worry about! The doctor I go to is one of the good guys up here. And has helped many, many people.
Thanks for the info and the links! I will be contacting the doc today as symptoms have not eased up.
