Yes, you heard me publix grocery store gives 14 day supply antibotics free. SO those with out insurance could get there lyme doc to break the script up in 14 day incurments .

*** I know for sure cipro and doxy are on the list.
** please note!!! call the store in your area to verify this. I highly doubt the only store doing this is montgomery Al .I hope it is possible for all stores.. once again i can only verify this in montgomery area, BUT it is worth calling your Publix.... ( WHAT DO WE HAVE TO LOOSE)????

** I appoligise if this is in the wrong spot, but it is sort of medical.

that's fantastic; post this in SEEKING DR. forum too; and show city/state in subject line.

how about contacting your state's yahoo group too?

People seeking doctors might be able to get help from their state online information and support group. Nearly 3,400 people belong to state groups. Some of the groups are small but more than 20 of them have 50 or more people and seven have over 100.

To find your state group, go to
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/statenamelyme

Type your state name and lyme as one word, like this -
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/newyorklyme

South Carolina is the only state that needs a hyphen between the statename
and lyme, e.g. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/southcarolina-lyme

The groups are moderated and you have to apply. Most don't allow doctor names, but once on the group, you can ask for doctors in a certain area and ask people to email you privately.

publix actually split my prescription into multiple refills when I was on doxy so I would get it for free.

I love Publix!!!

Yes, I am in Central PA, and -- oh great, now my brain shuts down -- either Walgreen's or Wegman's (it starts with a W, and not Walmart) is doing the same thing for a limited time.
