My wife started taking doxy two weeks ago. The last few nights she has been awakened by pains in her eyes. She said it feels like her eye ball has a rash.

The eye doc today said the doxy is probably drying her eyes out. She was given some eye drops.

Has this happen to any of you? If so, did eye drops do the trick?

Thanks

welcome to board.

i didn't experience that, but i needed to buy extra dark sunglasses, NOIR, NO INFRARED wraparound sunglasses in 2 different shades keeping out AS MUCH LIGHT AS POSSIBLE.

our home is really dark, like a funeral parlor. other tips/suggestions are in my newbie package link i just sent you in the pm i sent you ok!

use drops as necessary. hubby has similar problem and when tears come; WIPE IMMEDIATELY as it just stings so bad he's said. [group hug] [kiss]

I have twice had little blebs pop out on whites of

eye you can see with a flashlight. Dr. said it was

an immune response. I felt like it was the bugs at work.
Rubbing the lids caused deep pain.

I used

CS, a few drops in each eye cleared it up. And seemed very refreshing.

yes, my eyes are always really dry and look red. I just use moisture drops that seem to help me out.

For some reason I always sleep with my eyes cracked open a little bit. Pretty funny according to my friends. But it obviously causes dryness and irritation.

My eye doc recommended OTC "Refresh Tears" by Allergan for daytime use (whenever I feel dry) and "Refresh Liquigel" (to protect) before bed. Then in the morning I use "Naphcon A" (OTC antihistamine) drops to calm the irritation in my eyes. This protocol has helped me alot.

I was told specifically to avoid Visine.

I'm not on Doxy and my dryness issues started before Lyme so i'm not sure if this will help your wife but it would be worth a try. Good luck:)
