Just curious if you think this means anything. I'm sure your aware of the notional idea that Lymies don't really get colds. That has been true of me as well as i have not had a cold since 9/07.
I'm into my 5 month of treatmen tand in the last two weeks i am really srating to feel like my oldslef. I would say 80% better. Had my bets day on Saturday and than bamm i come down with a horrendous cold.
Any thoughts what this means for my immune system? Good sign, bad sign, meaningless?

same deal here... i was getting a bit better, aside from increase in shoulder pains, then over xmas i got a 24 hour stomach bug... then in the past 3 days- wham- i feel more tired, shaky, achey, etc.. can this be a virus? hopefully the bb didn't activate ebv

I used to never catch anything, but now that I'm getting better I catch everything that's going around.
In my case anyway, I don't think it's activated viruses as all three times I've been sick I have had a known exposure to the illness. Now that I've had a cold, a stomach virus, and the flu, maybe I'm done? LOL

Well, count me in. I can't recall ever having had a cold and my husband of 23 yrs thinks I may have had one when we were first married.
Caught a doozey on 12/28. Man, did it hurt. I ached in all my muscles and the bones in my face were indiscribably painful. It took 7 days to clear.
We were hoping this might be a sign of recovery.

Same.
No colds for past three years.
Over Christmas, my first in FOREVER, and a doozy.
I thought it was very exciting, as I do kind of subscribe to the theory that Lymies don't get them! Plus, I am certainly at my best ever, overall health wise. Still on those abx, though!!!

Onthemend,
Good to hear from you....and thanks for trying to make this cold a positive thing. I tried PMing you a while back once you told me where you are from.
I am frequent visitor to that nice little diner in your town. We are neighbors.
Glad you are doing well,
Dave

Sorry to tell you Dave, there are quite a few of us around here! And none of us crazy.
My immediate next door neighbor is also diagnosed LD - but I didn't know this when I was going through my dx nightmare!
I will clear out my box - maybe it's full up. I like to keep all my PMs to refer back to!
Sounds like you are coming along well, I hope it continues.
Let me know if you need any doc info, etc.

Onthemend,
You do know which diner i am refering to don't you? Yes doing much better than months ago when we chated.
Best greasy sandwich in NJ. The "slider" from that diner...so says the Newark Star Ledger. i have to agree.

Of course I know, but I will admit it is more of a hangout for my husband and 11 year old son!
I'm sure you are consuming nothing but fruits and nuts as you are healing - right??!

Onthemend,
not quite but i have been good overall. 100% fiber everyday as well as greens and protien. Very little sugar....going to the gym almost every other day and just builidng myself up again.
My body is ahead of my mind and insomnia still remains...but i am having some good days and maybe once a month i will allow myself the diner run !!!

Gotta be a reason for living, right?
I've got my eyes on the wine-with-dinner goal.

I recently got my first cold too, about 2 weeks ago. Had aching through my body even into my jaw/teeth, headache, runny nose & sore throat.
It's the first one I've had in the year since my symptoms started. I'm well on the way to getting better 80-90% better I'd say.
I was also wondering if it was my immune system getting better or if I'd gone downhill.

Hey Dave,
First I'm curious as to the diner of which you speak. If you recall I grew up in your neck of the woods!
I also just caught my first cold since starting treatment in Sept. LLMD treated since Nov. I am still getting over it...kind of afraid it is turning into a sinus infection.
I too am positively thinking on this...and the explanation given to me in a previous thread on the topic was this:
When the immune system is not working properly your body doesn't fight the virus. So you don't show any of the symptoms. But when your immune system starts to function properly, you begin to show symptoms again because your body is fighting again.
Look for the thread in Medical:
First cold since starting treatment...a good sign?
