Hi Everyone,

I am 80% better, but have recently started getting some new symptoms, the breathing area is getting progressively worse.

I've had a chest x-ray show up with some slight abnormalities. My Dr has given me an inhaler containing steroids which I don't want to take. I find onset of asthma too much of a coincidence.

I just want some advice from you guys on firstly whether you think the following symptoms could be babs.

- chest tightness
- difficulty getting my air in
- wheezing
- muscle aching/fatigue
- recurrence of heart palps occasionally
- slightly elevated liver enzymes for first time

I haven't really herxed of anything for lyme for a while and am wondering if Babs had been uncovered.

I am wanting to start some artemisinin. If was mentioned by my doctor before to take if I plateaued as she suspected babs as a possibility.

What dosage and what form do people take (liquid tincture or tablets). How slow to start, etc

Thanks

Kelly

One brand I got was the Nutricology brand which can be found on www.iherb.com

You should ideally work up to 600mg per day, or 300 if you are sensitive. You should take it ideally in 3 divided doses throughout the day......

So, 100 three times daily or 200mg three times daily.

In the beginning, I could only take a fraction of a capsule everyday. (I opened them up and dumped some out).

Because it looses its' effectiveness over time, it is best to pulse it 4 days on, 3 off, then repeat.

I am currently taking Holley Pharmaceuticals (google it) brand.....it is also a pill form. It seems weaker than the Nutricology stuff, but that might be because I am now used to artemisinin. Who knows.

Either way, this stuff definitely does something to the babesia....it's good stuff. Good luck.

Hi Kelly

Dont put much faith in Negative Babs test-
The tests for Babs are poor also --

If you do have babs treating with Only
Artimisinin may cause Resistance problems
down the road for you ---

Better to take something ALSO like Mepron
or the MUCH Cheaper Bactrim DS --
or Quinine type medicine

Bactrum DS works perty Good --

Doctors are usually more willing
to prescribe Bactrim DS because it
has been around a Long time --

Check your body temp several times aday-
Babs causes Low body temp usually --

The symptoms you list could be babs-
--Jay--

Jay is right....didn't think to mention resistance stuff since I was so tired. Hmmm wonder if it's okay to take artemisinin without Bactrim or a macrolide, etc. That is what I'm doing now......just Artemisinin and Minocycline.

Dr.Zhang's artemisia annua is very good. You take one 3 times a day. It contains some red root which make the herx reaction a little less severe.
I'm a bit scheptic that artemisinin alone can get rid of Babesia. Usually it is taken with Mepron or malarone plus a macrolide. Babesia can take a long time to eradicate. Enula from Nutramedix is now added to Babesia treatment and I think there is another new product out.
