Anyone out there that can help. What is this? Today my left front tooth, then my right front tooth, then the palate behind the teeth, then my lips, and parts of my face are going numb really fast. It is freaking me out! Can anyone help. Is this a cranial nerve problem?

Just had change of meds last week. Coming off of 6 mo. of Bicillin IM which I became allergic too and now on herbals.

Could use some support. Panic attacks with this.

Thanks

Facial Palsy hit me right away. I had numb left temple area, cheek, and teeth and jaw, all on left side.

That, along with my bullseye rash, extreme fatigue, and piece of tick in my foot led my health care practitioners in BC to swiftly diagnose me with Tetanus.

The numbness went away with everything else with treatment...just have a little bit of it left but not enough for others to notice.

Thank you "migs". I've been on treatments for 10 years and have had some lower chin face numbness on one side in the past. But this, came on so suddenly and seems central, down the middle of my face. But I don't feel as scared since you answered me back. Thank you so much.

It sounds a bit like it could be an allergic reaction. ??

In the event this could be the problem and so it doesn't get worse, please contact a doctor ASAP and do not take any more meds or herbs until you do.

Let us know how you are doing.. ok?

I have had numbness of my lips, nose and tip of my tongue off and on with this illness. Since Lyme is neurological, anything can happen! Still, you need to make sure you are not having an allergic reaction. Better to be safe!

Thank you "sutherngirl". Dr. called me back but I wasn't home. Sounds like they want to adjust my herbal meds I started last week but they didn't leave a message so I will find out what the LLMD says tomorrow I hope. Thanks for the support.

Hey Robin, I've had this happen on and off and was told it was a cranial nerve thing.

Thanks for the replies CD57 and sutherngrl. I am beginning to think it is just a cranial nerve thing but it came on so suddenely. Still there, does not seem to be an allergic reaction like some here suggested, but I have been Lyming for 10 years and never had this. I don't know why, but I am amazed that I am still getting brand new symptoms after 10 years. Amazing. The feelings of pain, burning, numbness, in the face resemble the definitions I'm reading for trigeminal neuralgia.

Thanks to all, Robin
