i have very very sore lumps under my left rib on the side toward the back. if you press on it, it feels like gristle and moves.

somebody suggested fat deposits which are called lipomas. of course, i'm way overweight, 185 at 5 foot 2.

but could these deposits be lyme? they really really hurt.

My lipomas did not hurt. Have you had them checked by a doctor?

There's a possibility that they could be "gummas". Using syphilis as a model for Lyme disease (since they're both spirochetal illnesses), you'll see that syphilis has been found to cause lumps in various places (virtually anywhere in the body). They go away when the syphilis is cured. They can be large or small.

I've had several lumps, one large one on the bottom of my foot, which has gone away after repeated application of Venex bee venom ointment in addition to aggresive antibiotic therapy. If you're not allergic to bee stings, you should give it a try. Just massage it into the skin above the lumps. This caused me to herx, but my herx symptoms are easy to recognize.

I buy my Venex ointment here: www.dancingbeeacres.com

Hi there <<<<< Randibear >>>>>,

TxC' gets lypomas, but we have heard of others whose weight was low having them too.One lady we met online, had one on her neck close to the spinal column, and her Dr. had her have surgery to remove it.

TxC's lypomas may be Agent Orange/Dioxin poisoning related from his time in the Military service.

I'd wonder if the Lyme was causing them? or at least aggravating the problem. If it continues to stay painful I'd have the lumps checked out by your Dr. especially if you can get to your LLMD.

Hope your on the mend from your hospital visit!

Hey Randi,

I have had several of these over the last few years. Very sore, painful lumps right under the skin (sub-cutaneous).

The only explanation I ever got was that they were lipomas, and that Babs LOVED lipomas.

Well, they did lesson in pain and number after Babs treatment, but have never fully gone away.

I am hopeful with additional treatment, they will disappear.

My best,
M

M

Meant to add, that IF this steadily grows in size or becomes even more sharply painful, you really should have it looked at by your doc.

Not to frighten you, but some lipoma-like presentations could be cancerous lymphomas.

Sorry, I just think that too often we tend to think that everything is Lyme, and sometimes, it isn't.

randi, see if your dr will prescribe some Flagyl cream and try massaging that in and see what happens. you could also try ozonated olive oil.
