Both of my upper eyelids look like they're heavy and are being pulled down. ...as if you're watching a blob of gel slowly sliding down an incline.
The lowest part of my eyelids are resting on my eyelashes, but not interfering with my sight.
Does that make any sense? I wouldn't consider them droopy, but then again, it's hard to tell.
My Mom had the same thing over Christmas. She said her mother had it too. Mom is planning surgery to correct hers.
Is it Lyme, or hereditary droopiness?

A neurologist would call it a ptosis -- hubby has this on his left eye only. It can be caused by myasthenia gravis. Basically it is a sign of weakness of a certain eye muscle.

I saw an opthalmologist today. He says I'm just getting old! ...and it's likely just a hereditary condition.
I told him it came on suddenly. I'd better get a picture to show my LLMD.

This is one of my symptoms and is the first sign of a herx for me. Along with that my eyeballs feel like they have pressure on them and sometimes hurt a little. Also get a frontal headache. It's very debilitating for me, but it is getting better.

This is definitely hereditary-I know firsthand because I have it on my right eye only(looks like hell!) and my sister also has it on one eye. My Aunt had to have plastic surgery to correct hers-it was so bad,on both eyes, it was affecting her vision. So my sis and I are both hoping that we may be spared the same eyelid surgery fate, as that is the last type of surgery I would ever want to electively do! So many other health issues I have would definitely take priority! Hope this helped-

I am having a severe herx right now and normally I wouldn't post anything just due to feeling so bad and it really hurts to type.
When I saw your post, it got my attention because I have this and it can be very severe at times. It does enterfer with my vision horribly. Usally my left eye will be paralized----well I mean I can't move it at all.
My LLMD said it was due to the cranial nerve and I'm sorry as I don't remember which one. He also suspects Myasthenia Gravis. I have had the blood test and the NCS, but as he said and I agree very strongly; the tensolin test is the most accurate.
Puffy eyelids and bags under the eyes can be hereditary of course-----but not when it comes on all of the sudden!!!!!
Please get a second opinion!!!!! I would not except the diagnosis, "You're getting old; it's hereditary."
