Last week I started having systemic yeast symptoms again after not having any for awhile. I went to the health store and bought some refrigerated acidopholis and began taking one capsule a day.

The day before I started taking probiotics again I had the worst spasm I've ever had just under my ribcage on the left side. It took every bit of self control not to scream from the pain.

Two days after I began taking the acidopholis, yesterday, I had severe lower abdominal cramps and diarrhea and took some Immodium and I had no more problems until today.

Now I have such bad cramps that it is too painful to walk around. I am really bloated and have constant sharp pains in my lower abdomen. The area in which I had the awful spasm the other night also feels sore.

I haven't had problems such as these for two years so I don't know what to think. I haven't been on antibiotics for awhile but I have been on the Cowden protocol for over a year and have improved quite a bit.

Does anyone know what could be the cause of my sudden GI issues? I didn't start having lower abdominal cramping until after I started the acidopholis but the upper left abdominal spasm happened before.

[confused]

You have to plant the probiotics from the bottom up as well. Usually the probiotics can't get past the stomach acids and they can't plant in the large intestines where a lot of yeast hangs out.

Have you treated for parasites and worms? This can also be a symptom of bloating.

Hope this helps,

Gael

probiotics can cause all of that...i would stop taking all of them for a week and see if the symptoms go away.
