I'm sure we are all unbashful when it comes to our bodies after going through Lyme and co-infections . . .

So this is a problem for me. I can feel it moving through my intestines and it is painful, then after I "give birth" ( it is always large and somewhat soft ) I feel worse.

My muscles start to twitch, I get a mild aura, headache, tongue numbness, vascular type of pain in hands, feet and head- that is the best way I can describe it.

Am I dehydrated? Detox effect? Why would it be painful for it to move through my intestines?

I am not constipated.

Anyone know what might be going on?

You may be holding your breath when you bear down to have a bowel movement. This cuts off your oxygen, stresses your heart and causes headache etc. Breathe in, exhale slowly when you bear down. Hope this helps.

I have this issue too.

I think it's because of toxins. They are being moved through a very porous system (intestines).

It is where your neurotoxins are moving and they then get re absorbed back in to the system - hence the need for a binder like CSM or similar.

What is CSM?

Sorry Cholestyramine/Questran

That is interesting, my cholesterol shot up 40 point in 3 months. Who prescribes this to you, your LLMD? Is there an over the counter of herbal equivalent?

Holly,

CSM is not an herb at all, however, the herbs sarsaparilla (smilax) and a formula, Triphala would be excellent alternatives.

Eating lots of veggies is good, too, to help increase bulk in your diet. That helps detox tremendously.

Back to the original question:

Why would it be painful for it to move through my intestines?

That's just part of lyme. Everything is painful. But be sure to tell your LLMD, just in case there is more to it.

beths - great advice on breathing. That will really help.

And, as randibear says: taking good PROBIOTICS is a vital key to preventing candida - candida will make intestines more tender.

If you get Cholestyramine/Questran be absolutely certain it is FREE of aspartame/Nutrasweet/Equal.

It is often added but it is a toxic ingredient. Lyme patients are supposed to avoid even a trace of that.

Increasing your MAGNESIUM supplement to bowel tolerance and then back back a bit will help your bowels tremendously. It will help for a "softer" experience AND magnesium greatly helps with detox and it reduces pain and the irritation to nerves by calming neuro symptoms.
