Hi ya'll! My LLMD put me on diflucan 200mg everyday to treat my lyme. Ironically I don't have a yeast issue. After 3 weeks I will shots of penicillian (sp?) to the mix.
My question is has anyone else done this and did it make you so tired that you can barely hold your head up? Also I now have the headache from hell. So is this herxing? If so, it's different than when I was doing just abx.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Have a great day!

I was on diflucan for many months to treat Lyme -I believe it is known to have antimicrobial effects.
There is a Dr who has done research on this, I forget his name.
Anyway, it made me herx like crazy and took me months to get up to a full dose, but once I did it was very helpful

Yes, and you could be herxing from systematic yeast.

Thanks to all that replied. I have never herxed like this. I am serious, I am so tired that I can't hardly function. That along with the headache and joint pain is really wearing me down.
I am glad to hear that it is a good treatment and I'm looking forward to the feeling better part.

I had no idea that diflucan had antibacterial properties -- anyone have additional info on this? Website to check out etc?

Ha -- I answered my own question! For those similarly curious:
I do not know how to make them links all fancy and hyperlinky. Oh well. I have been taking Diflucan for a week+ now, prior to beginning antibiotics for the Lyme -- to help dampen high levels of Candida seen in my stool sample. Fortunately I have not noticed any strong herx-like reaction -- I hope that I remain similarly blessed when I start the abx next week!
