I started IV Rocephin 16 days ago and have been herxing for the past 7 at least. When I herxed on oral abx, this never included swollen lymph nodes- just lots of fatigue, arthritis, and flu feeling.

Before my Lyme dx, I would get these bouts of 'flu' where my lymph nodes were so bad that they suspected some kind of stealth cancer and did multiple ultrasounds, gallium scans etc. I haven't had this symptom for at least six months.

The last couple of days, my lymph nodes are majorly swollen in my throat, neck and arm pits. My doctor said this is not typically Lyme. What is it then? I suspect some coinfection that is popping up since I hhaven't seen this during a herx before.

I've tested + for bartonella and babesia in the past. I thought lymph nodes were linked to bartonella (cat scratch fever- treated for that pre-Lyme dx) but my doc is ordering another babesia test.

The co-infection that causes lymph node swelling is bartonella. There may be others.

Lyme can also cause lymph node swelling. Do a search for "lymph" in this file.

What about babesia? Just wondering if anyone knows why my LLMD would test for babesia rather than bartonella?

Any other ideas?

I have Ehrlichia and the lymph node under my arm has been swollen for years.

Thanks,

Could be bartonella or babesia.

I have babesia, positive on blood tests. When I started treating babs, my lymph nodes quickly became painful and swollen. My doctor said it was possible that this reaction was from the babesia die-off.

If I've tested positive for both babs and bart in the past, but recent tests show a negative, how can I figure out which one I should be treating? One is probably more critical than the other right now... any way to tell?

I say bartonella of course there's always mono.

Bartonella most likely- if you had a positive in the past- it is probably still there if you didn't treat with Levaquin/Aciphex or Rifampin and Zithormax. Bart is known to cause swollen lymph nodes..........

Many things can cause your lymphs to swell:
