Good morning to all. I just read another study that found women who drink 2 to 3 cups of coffee have less of a chance of stroke.
They believe coffee helps keep blood vessels open or something like that. They believe it is not the caffeine, but the antioxidants. Tea did not have the same effect.
I feel better with Lyme symptoms when I have coffee. How does everyone else feel about this??

I cannot drink coffee ever since becoming ill. It makes me feel horrible. I use to drink 2 cups every morning and I do miss the times when I could really enjoy it.

I was never a coffee drinker even before getting sick since I've always had trouble with caffeine.
By what you are saying, it sounds like this study would imply even if you drank decaff.
For now, my only bits of coffee are for coffee enema's but guess that wouldn't count for this either.

The deal with coffee is that the american diet is so bad that coffee turns out to be a "good thing" in appearance since its actually a plant and plants naturally have lots of anti-oxydents in them.
And so studies find coffee happens to have more anti-oxy's then anything else in the typ stripped amer. diet. INSANE!!!
Caf ruins the adrenals....but I do drink it....and I am addicted to it....and it helps my bart headaches....
I do think if one can limit to 1-2 cups a day and mainly only morning drinking that it shouldnt hurt you any.
If you read up on things, most of the time, anything in small amounts is good for you, often even poisons...they dont really know why...but these are researchers findings....perhaps to keep the body on full alert....to remind the immune system of the dangers...keep it on its toes in alert mode??

I continued with my lattes throughout my illness. I had heard that it could be bad .... and that it could be good .... so I just had them because I liked them, plus, they had 240 calories, which I needed.
Coffee enemas are good too. LOL

Who funded the study? $tarbucks? just joking...
I don't think coffee is bad in moderation. I have 1 cup a day & it doesn't seem like a bad thing.
I heard alot of good news about pomegranates! If you are looking for health benefits - pomegranates may be more helpful.
The seed contain an oil that may cure some cancers. The juice is helpful for heart disease, cholesterol, estrogen balance & probably a bunch of other things.
I heard one report that they were using the fermented juice with the seed extract to make a cancer drug.
Blueberries & red grapes are supposed to be helpful, too.

While some individuals may have stronger systems and be able to handle some coffee to some degree, most find caffeine to be very detrimental, especially if -- fatigue, anxiety, rapid-heart rate, insomnia or seizures - are problems, as coffee's "high" usually comes back for a big let-down.
There are hundreds of other ways to get great anti-oxidants from plants in our diet or quality supplements such as resveratrol, bilberry, CoQ10, etc.
Adrenal support herbs, and other supplements and certain foods, can provide sustained energy. Singleton outlines those.
