just curious if anyone has had an itchy tongue while pushing generic rocephin. i did generic rocephin from June 2, 2008 - October 3, 2008 without any adverse reactions but now i have relapsed and started pushing again. if you have experienced this, please share how you dealt with it. my doctor told me to only do the push once a day as opposed to twice a day until the itchy tongue goes away. anyway, thanks to everyone.

Rather than a push, can you do a slower drip?
I've never taken this but was considering it at one time.
Someone told me that a slower drip would be better than a push so as not to stress the gallbladder too much or have sudden reactions such flushing since a drip is more diluted - or at least takes longer (an hour or so) versus a much shorter push.
It's just a thought.

do you think it would make a difference and if so, why? i could suggest to my LLMD. i would have to learn how to do the IV but i'm sure i can handle that. also, i am doing rifampin too so maybe that is creating the side effect when used with the rocephin. but why an itchy tongue?

BTW, i am pushing 2 ml every 7-10 minutes so i'm going pretty slow it seems.

I had to move my push to 40 minutes and take Benadryl when I was doing it.
