Both my kids (ages 2 and 4) are acidotic according to their latest bloodwork. The LLMD does not know if this is related to their Lyme Disease (and co-infections). Has anyone ever heard of having this condition in relation either to the disease, the meds (Mepron, Azithromycin and Bactrum) or the supplement (Burbur, Yeastease, Dalektro and a probiotic)? Please email me directly if you have any advice.
Thanks,
Beth

AFAIK, acidosis commonly occurs during many types of infections, not just lyme

There are 2 kinds of acidosis. One is respiratory and the other is metabolic.

They are very very different.

My son was acidotic for the first 4 months of life, but that was due to lack of Oxygen

I'm confused. I've been suspecting that I'm overly acidic based on issues with yeast/candida and candida likes an acid environment.

However, I have elevated bicarbonate levels which usually indicates alkalosis.

Alkalosis is also linked to dehydration issues and electrolyte balances which would make sense with my POTS syndrome/hypovolemia and the symptoms I've gotten with that of hands/feet clawing up and feeling of electrical shocks. And, difficulty retaining fluids.

I'm just trying to sort all this out in my head.
