Hi - I'm just scanning through the support groups because I've been on heavy duty abx for a couple of months now - and feeling as if they are just making me sicker.

I tested positive for Lyme (Igenex) this January - and I suspect I was infected 03/2008.

I had 3 weeks of doxy from a ER physician- but am now on ~400mg doxy, 200 plaquenil, 400 probenecid/omincef and clarithomyocin.

I take physician rec'd supplements (glutathione, NAC, Selenium, Mg, zinc) + three probiotics 2X daily) - and have horrible GI problems (diarrhea)
****************************************

My LLMD has tried switching up meds - but that was worse.

I guess I'm wondering - do I just have to bite the bullet and deal?

Thanks for any insights

That is a fairly large amount of abx - the probenecid pretty much can double the omnicef effect. I can say that when my son developed GI issues from abx nothing worked better than VSL#3 DS.

What dose and form is the magnesium? Mag in all forms can cause loose stools, but mg citrate is by far the worst.

Thanks for the reply - what is VSL#3 DS?
For the Mg - it's an amino form - I think it's 100mg which I'm supposed to take 2X daily.
