I got bit by a tick in Florida and brought Lyme back to New Mexico with me. I don't have a LLMD and can't afford to travel.
My family doctor is helping me based on Dr. Singleton's book. We treated Lyme first with a rocephin IV for 3.5 months.
Now we are attacking the Bartonella with Rifampin (600mg) and doxycycline (500MG). I felt better at first with red blothes or vien-like things rising up under my knuckles and in my feet and then disappearing.
It is taking a long time how ever. It will be two months of treatment on March 15th.
How long did it take you to clear up your Bartonella? Did your doctor prescribe any thing else with it? What did your doctor treat after your bartonella was gone?
Any thoughts are helpful to me and my doctor.
Thanks! Joe

Wow your family doctor sounds like an angel.
I think you'll get a lot of mixed responses here. The short answer is: I don't think there's a magic bullet. Different treatments work for different people.

I agree, what a GREAT PCP!!!! It sounds like you are in good hands with him. Sorry, I have not yet started treatment so I cannot answer your question.
I'm sure others who have treated will chime in soon, I know Bart is a difficult co.
take care, Ocean
