Hi all,

Since all of my symptom started one symptoms that came along slowly was my left wrist. Started with a tiny pain in the wrist, then the pain spread to include most of the arm, shoulder, back, etc.

My feet continue to get better, but not my arm. I also had elbow surgery which stopped the tingling in the fingers.

When all this started I had no idea I had an infection and a hand specialist told me it was an overuse injury and I needed rest. Well, I rested and it got worse.

For a while I couldn't even support myself on that arm leaning against something or pushing off the ground, as in a push up. Then I notice somedays I am fine and can push up off the ground, weird.

But, I notice it always hurts when I bend the wrist forward! Hurts like hell! Can Lyme do this? This started around the time of my other symptoms through my body....it actually came along later than the feet etc.

But, why would it hurt mostly when bending the wrist forward(Dorsiflexion)compared to bending it back?
Something to do with the infection impacting the joint or cartilage?

Thanks for any help with this thought of mine. [Smile]

Richie, all I know is that the Lyme bacteria can affect any part of the body. Especially parts of us that could possibly have some build-up of lactic acid,

since it tends to settle in more anaeorbic locations - ie, locations that aren't as well oxygenated.

Which always leads me to ask the question about how we could get an area oxygenated as much as possible. The answers to that question are many.

And that's only one piece of the Lyme puzzle, since we're dealing with nerves and Lyme living in tissues, etc.

I still found that I improved the most when I was able to take an effective abx.

Hi richedie,

I broke your post up so others with neuro problems can read it too.

I've had the very same issues, started in my left wrist and traveled around to my back also.

I've had surgery on my elbow, steroid shots and physical therapy. None of those worked. I hadn't been diagnosed with lyme at that time and was told that I had wear and tear problems.

I've been on treatment for 6mo. now and it still hasn't resolved so I really don't have any good advice to give you.

I hope you are getting treatment and seeing a good llmd. If nerves and tendons are damaged it can take a very long time to heal.

proudmom [hi]

sorry folks, don't know how to get rid of the bold type in the quote.

Days like today I want to cut off my arm at the shoulder to get rid of this painful limb. I can't stand it some days. Acupuncture is not really helping much. [Mad] [confused]
