Sorry, It does not. Or, at least it's not that simple.
Maybe someone got lucky but it is very wrong for this to be lauded as a single cure. I think that is very misleading.
No one single herb cures lyme. The word "Cure" is normally avoided by those who work with lyme.
Many herbs are very helpful as part of a formula but I am proof that Teasel, alone, does not always cure lyme - it did nothing for me. It was my one hope before I found out more. I gave teasel months of my life - and zippo.
Now, still, I do see that it has some value but I'd not bet my life on it, alone. I'd only include this as part of a plan.
Some people do much better on this than do other people. So, if results are not apparent in a reasonable time, this just might not be the right ticket for one person - but may be part of a winning combination for someone else.

yep, I have been on it from day 1. My PA who treats me said Dr. Burascano used it as well. It does work, in fact, I just stopped all abx to let my stomach heal , and the only lyme killer I am on is spironull, which is teasel root. Jenin

Thanks Keebler and Jen,
I guess it is worth a try. I agree that the word 'cure' is very strong.
Jen, can you tell me where you buy yours? Have you herxed on it and how long now you've been off abx for your stomach?
Thanks. Ocean

the page where Barbara discusses this, she does list a few other things to consider using with it.
But, of course, it's always best to try anything new alone for a day or two.
I just did a search here for past threads and it seems split.
There are a few who say it was a very good choice for them. A few as a solo item; others as part of a plan.
Some did not notice anything; others said that it was helpful to relieve pain, etc.

This is the brand that I used - and just one place to get it:
She is an ILADS member and a ND (naturopathic physician), so she has knowledge of the unique nature of the spirochete and what is required but also knows all about supportive techniques.
RIFE machine - with lyme and TBD (tick-borne disease).

According to hubby's herbalist (the dancing violets website) teasel works for maybe 2% of the people who take it. Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones.
From what I have read it most likely works better on certain strains which are more common in certain geographic areas.
Didn't do anything that I could tell for hubby.
I always wondered if the lady with the website really had Lyme 6 times or if it was just an ongoing infection which she was able to put in remission from time to time?

Bea...2%? That is discouraging! But I guess like everything else, you just have to try try and try again!
I wish they could figure out how to tell what strain you have! I either have the midwest one, or the one in the Carolina's, I got a bad summer 'flu' after a 10 day trip down there and then developed s/s of Lyme.
I was thinking she probably always had Lyme the whole time. I wondered that too though!!!
Thanks, Ocean

Teasel didn't help me in the first 2 yesrs of infection. Somehow it helped me tremendously in the 3rd year. I wonder if it has to do with strains as I keep getting bitten again and again.
I think if you have arthritis, you can test teasel to see. If you don't feel any benifit, don't insist. If you feel benefit, continue on it.
In my experience, when a remedy (herb or whatever) works, it works rather fast, one does not have to trying it for months to see. I would try one week, for example and see. Some people have huge benefits with it while others have none. I had both experiences.

I buy mine from my llmd's office, you cannot purchase it on your own, I don't believe. I don't take it alone, I take it in addition to abx, but I have been off abx for 1 week cause I have h. pyloir and am doing an endoscopy. Jenin

I think she used it with St. Johns Wort and Grapefruit seed extract. I think probably re-occuring infection as well. She also mentions other herbs as mentioned in post above. I wonder about St. Johns Wort since the homeopathic version is used in prevention when first bitten.
My daughter is on teasel. Did herx in beginning and now up to 9 drops x2 daily.. nothing, but no clear symptoms either.. ??? She is also on Lyme Nosodes which contains all co infections.

Take a look at the herbal discussions from lymenet that I have in my signature. htere are some sources of teasel that I think are listed in there somewhere.

Depending on the timing of infection, co-infection, and genetic makeup of the infected creature (esp. human...), lyme can have so many different manifestations that there is no one guaranteed "cure", herbal, or pharma-.
That being said, I have heard some good reports about teasel's effectiveness, so it's definitely not at all impossible that some people beat it after taking it (and probably other things, too).
I definitely would have tried it if I had run accross the page you give above, though I sure would have kept up the GSE OLE and garlic, unless I read or heard, from an apparently valid source, that there could be some reaction. (I wonder have many paid (off) "apparently valid sources" there are...- now that's a disturbing thought!; that's why redundancy and consensus is important, though these could be messed with too- thus at some point we still have to rely on that "third eye"....). (thus I generally agree with Keebler) DaveS
