Has Rifampin worked well for anyone without making them horribly sick?? I was on it.. and I herxed sooo bad, brought me soo much pain, that I could barely handle it. So I switched to just Tetracycline by itself and it seems to work good by itself.
Just wondering if anyone else out there had to do this as well. I'm on my 17th day of being on Tetracycline.

Be careful!!! My daughter almost died two weeks ago after getting rifampin in the hospital. She first took the drug two years ago and was very sick right away. She told the doc this time that she had had a bad reaction previously, but he ordered it for her anyway. Right away she got sick, itched and had a rash, headache, problems breathing, drop in blood pressure 40/30 and finally anaphylactic shock. Had to call in the first response team to save her. She ended up in ICU. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!! Susan

Having a problem tolerating the drug is different from being allergic, which I think was the issue for Susan's daughter.
I got profound nausea from it, and stopped.
Question: Aren't we all HOPING for herx reactions?
I've only had about 6 weeks of treatment so far, but I had a bad herx for 6 days, and thought I should be happy about that. No?
