Is leg heaviness a symptom of lyme or could it be a coinfection symptom such as bartonella or bab's.

i don't know; how you looked at my symptom lists in my newbie package links?? please do; there are quite a few of them and LONG; my memory isn't due to neuro lyme.

Hi dian. Babesiosis makes my legs heavy and weak.

This is interesting. I had extremely bad leg heaviness when I was in Paris almost three summers ago. I could barely lift my legs to walk.
That was the day I had to be rushed to the hospital and felt like I was going to die.
I haven't been diagnosed with co-infections yet, but I do think that I have Babesia because I have a lot of the symptoms.
I wonder if I was so sick that day because of Babesia. I have read that when you first get Babesia, it comes on really strong and fast.

I have this and I don't think that I have Babesia at all. Haven't been tested though.
My legs are only heavy in the morning or if I sit with my feet up for too long. If I exercise, they hurt a little bit more at night than normal. For the most part though, I am okay during the day.
Good luck!

Heavy arms and legs was one of the first things I became aware of years ago and they have stayed with me as part of the CFS symptoms I have had throughout.
Strangely enough, they have not been as heavy as usual over the past 2 weeks and I have had the stamina to do a bit more and walk a bit further..hope that lasts!
I have borrelia and all 3 common co-infections [probably others too, who knows?], so I couldn't begin to say which one is responsible:
theoretically, I have had abx or other meds for all 4, but symptoms haven't changed.
I'm always amazed that some people can identify with confidence which infections are responsible for which symptoms. I wish I knew!

Low thyroid causes this also. Even stumbling and dragging feet.
