I just got diagnosed after 3 years with Lyme disease. My concern is that I can or have passed it to my children and/ or husband.... I know there are 2 schools of thought on this, please advise me, I'm freaking out!

It seems to be. Sort of the same way AIDS is infectious. You are not going to spread it easily, but the exchange of body fluids makes it possible.
My wife has had it for over three years and I do not have it yet, if that is any help.
This is not generally accepted, but it really does not make sense that it would not be transmitted by body fluids. The bacteria is there.

I know that I have had Lyme for at LEAST 20 years... likely from birth though. My mother won't get tested but grew up in Rhode Island and has multiple Lyme symptoms. My identical twin sister has Lyme disease. My 15 yr old daughter just tested CDC positive. My husband has been clinically diagnosed and we have been married for 10 years.. no known tick bite and no symptoms until these last couple years. We are in our early 30s. My two elementary school age children now have multiple Lyme symptoms as well and we are saving up to get them tested.
My answer is yes. Nobody can convince me otherwise.

yes, it can pass from 1 person to another ... many different theories on this and whose book or works you read.

People seeking doctors might be able to get help from their state online information and support group. Nearly 3,400 people belong to state groups. Some of the groups are small but more than 20 of them have 50 or more people and seven have over 100.
The groups are moderated and you have to apply. Most don't allow doctor names, but once on the group, you can ask for doctors in a certain area and ask people to email you privately. *******************************************

Well, it's transmitted congenitally and sexually*, and I believe that, at least under some circumstances, it can also be airborne. This has generally been a goal when producing weaponized spirochetes (of which the Lyme bug is one)+, and, recently, one of the CDC goons responsible for denying us treatment very discreetly called for the production of a vaccine that could provide mucosal immunity to the disease.#

Most of my family and my husband's that I have had close contact with have had really serious health issues. I wish someone would figure this out!!

With out a doubt it is indeed contagious. It has been found in all body fluids an its close cousin syphillis is highly contagious. The bacteria is very stable out of a host and with its corkscrew shape can enter tissue easily.

I was diagnosed first. Then I found out that my husband and 5 year old daughter have Lyme. I am sure my daughter never got bit by a tick.
I agree above, they say it is not contagious, but I beleive that it is.

All debate aside if you have lyme and you have other family members and kids-- that play in the same yard, have pets--- the answer is YES.
We have 5 CDC positive in our family.

My mom has Lyme and has been really sick since I was younger. Before that she was always sick as a child with things that could have been related to Lyme. She also had some miscarriages.
So I believe I might have been born with it. I have been getting really sick for about 10 yrs. But I always had chronic problems as a child too.
We just tested our 2 boys and they are positive too. My youngest is very symptomatic and my older son has more vague symptoms that could have been other things.
My daughter and husband haven't been tested yet but both have symptoms too.
My point being that it is too many coincidences for me!! I say it's not only possible to be born with it but it can be passed sexually and who knows how else???

Lots of unknowns & possibilities here. IF you became infected After you finished breastfeeding your youngest, it's safe to assume you didn't pass it along. But if you were infected before or during pregnancy, there's a good possibility it could've been transferred, depending on alot of factors, including chance. A lot of circumstantial evidence of breast-feeding passing along Lyme, but, again no 'proof' as I understand it, though BB have been found in the milk. Passing it along to your husband- although not documented (yet)- is a theoretical possibility, esp w/ continual contacts. But because spouses are usually exposed to the same potential of tick contact, it's hard to identify & confirm. I hear the general rule is that if you are acutely ill w/ Lyme, it's best to use prophylactic protection. (Not that one is particularly 'interested' when ill w/ LB!)

My Husband has had Lyme for about 2 1/2 years, give or take. My Sister has had Lyme for a few years as well.
Both myself and my Brother-in-law may or may not also have it, as we both have very vague symptoms that can be attributed to other things.
Since my Hubby's LD diagnosis, we have been extremely careful with kissing,etc. But I'm sure the damage is already done to me if it is contagious, because he went about 2 years being undiagnosed, and we obviously had contact well before he started ABX in January.
I had a LabCorp WB done, and was positive on band 41 Igm only, but I also had another active infection at the time that could have caused my one positive band, not necessarily LD. My Brother in law has not yet been tested.
I worry if I do have LD, that hopefully it can't be passed on by saliva-I have a 4 1/2 year old child that I hug and kiss alot, and we share food, utensils,etc.
So far she seems very healthy-has had a cold a month since starting preschool in September, so her immune system is obviously working well.
I wonder if anyone knows about the transfer of LD through saliva? I'd be curious to know about that to protect my child.
